+currykev Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 (edited) This may have been done before, and if so I see no reason to purloin the idea. Just show a Mapping image when you have got the "Ding" for the right answer to the question. So, I'll start the ball rolling by asking which city is this?..no longer invisible. Chudley Cannons Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Looked at lot like Goodison Park at first but the surrounding area just isn't right. The big roundabout to the north is a dead giveaway though. honeybun is right I think. It is Bramhall Lane Quote
+Guanajuato Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Took me a few minutes but how about Bramhall Lane, home of Sheffield United. Sorry its taken so long to get back on... Half Right , it IS the home of Sheffield United, so it's Bramall Lane. So a Ding to Gushoneybun Not all that sure what was going on with the pictures. Sorry about that. Tip for future - don't use google/picasa for hosting images to link from this board! Quote
+Gushoneybun Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Sorry for the delay. So where is this? Quote
+Gushoneybun Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Epcot Centre, Florida Well done, over to you Quote
Chudley Cannons Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Could I make a suggestion on the rules for this thread. Give a picture and a cryptic-ish clue to point in the general direction. Unlike the pub quiz, using Google Earth should be allowed. The Epcot picture was very easy, but I didn't know the Budapest location. It was fun google-earthing around the major cities of Europe looking for it though. Even though I would not have posted the answer if I'd found it. Allowing google-earthing will open up a lot more possibilities of locations and make it more fun. Quote
+milvus-milvus Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Allowing google-earthing will open up a lot more possibilities of locations and make it more fun. A bit like Google Earth's own quiz in the Sightseer newsletter? Sounds good to me. Quote

It's just a bit of light hearted fun, nothing more nothing less. The question was what has it got to do with caching. I know it's fun, but caching items have been closed by the mods in the past so why not this one? Perhaps it would be a good idea to have this left open. It's harmless fun, and, let's face it, it's better than anything in which everyone starts to argue. Personally, I think that some of the problems that have existed on this forum are because every topic has to adhere to a caching subject and eventually people run out of things to discuss 'cos talking about caching all the time is really dull ( ), so they argue. Easy. Quote
+maxkim Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 As I understand it there is a cache within 1000 miles of this picture... ID the cache as well... LOL. MaxKim. Quote
+Guanajuato Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 (edited) If someone does end up closing it, get thee to the NorthWest Forums (Fora?). A similar quiz has been running on & off for a while - up to 16 pages now. Normally its been NW only, but once in a while, foreign parts (even YORKSHIRE) have been featured. Guilty as charged Hope the forum doesn't get overloaded now... Edited March 2, 2009 by Guanajuato Quote
