+DHJ&P
Well done on getting Geocaching mentioned on Radio 2. I work for BBC Wales in Cardiff (but not directly on the programme side). I mentioned Geocaching to a news editor earlier this year. He commissioned the “Country Focus” producer to make half hour programme on geocaching for Radio Wales. Geocaching will be the sole topic of the half hour long Radio Wales Country Focus programme. http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/radiowales/sites/countryfocus/ The programme was recorded last week in Aberystwyth and they have created their own caching ID “Country Focus” http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=7f...a5-3ee8b880f2db. By checking the programme’s first two cache finds, you can see some of what went on. They also set up a Radio Wales TB and it’s currently in GC10DXW. The programme is likely to be aired this August and shows Geocaching in a positive light. It will be available on the BBC Radio Player after transmission. I will post a link here when the time comes. +ddr1711
He does probably get LOADS of msgs/emails but we've successfully had a mention last week and a mention this week if we persist and try again next week he may be interested/intrigued enough to find out what caching is and host geocaching as a topic on the show? (sent a follow up msg with a pronunciation guide for him! he must have missed that one! ) Quote Link to comment

They were getting people to text in with interesting activities to do this summer. I believe they said the text was from FredCat1. Quote Link to comment

Well Done Dave! Thanks for the update. It looks like Wales has become the 'Centre of the Geocaching World' for the UK. First there was Deceangi as Mod/Reviewer then came the Moderating duck, mandarin. The new Reviewer, Noggin's friend, Graculus followed on swiftly behind and now a full 28 minutes of geocaching on BBC Radio Wales. What have you lot got over there that the rest of us seem to be sadly lacking? Is it something they put in the water? P Quote Link to comment
