+Sissy-n-CR
The ad on my Groundspeak homepage caught my eye, so I clicked through. I am not sure what I think about the site, altho I am pretty sure that if caching turned into a hobby that cost every time I went out I would no longer cache. What do you think? +New England n00b
Um... that was... different. It looks like Letterboxing without the stamp. No thanks. Quote Link to comment
+Mopar
No, I haven't seen the ad, and try as I might I couldn't get it to show no matter how many times I refreshed. It doesn't really look like something I would normally expect GC.com to promote either. Paying a 3rd party money to be able to find a cache (you get paid $7 every time someone finds your cache?!?) pretty much goes against the grain of everything I've seen here. Quote Link to comment
+Sissy-n-CR
I think I might be a bit more impressed if the site admin knew how to use spell-check. On second thought, no I wouldn't. The ad was yellow and black and said something like "Get paid to put out caches!" Edited December 11, 2006 by Sissy-n-CR Quote Link to comment
+Mopar
I noticed all the typos too. Certainly not very professional for a site that wants me to spend upwards of $1000 for a map. Some maps can sell for as high as $1,000 and take you do different countries and have awesome treasures at the end of their adventure. Quote Link to comment

Cloudwalker501
I checked out the site and there is not one of these treasure hunts within 250 miles on my location - no thank you! The best things in life are free! Quote Link to comment
+Moore9KSUcats
Have any maps been created, other than the sample one he showed? There aren't any within 250 miles of me, either. Quote Link to comment
ParentsofSAM
It looks like there are 3 maps in the US all in Ohio. No were near me. 2 of them cost $5 and the other one is $9.95. I would not do this seems kinda of not so fun. Quote Link to comment
+webscouter.
Can't possibly understand why anyone would pay for what you can get for free here. Quote Link to comment

QuigleyJones
If you have to pay there better not be any "lame" caches From the FAQ page WHAT IS IN THE TREASURE? The treasures are often old ammo boxes or tubberwear containers. Generally, unless otherwise notified by the map you buy, you are to take something and leaving something of equal vaule in the treasure. The map you buy will suggest an item to take with you. The hidden treaure could contain anything from a mock doubloon to a marble or a McDonald toy or garage sale jewelery. It should be something small by which you can remember your adventure. The real treasure is the fact that you made it to your destination and figurecracked someone else's map! Gotta love the banner on top with the ever so professional Word font Quote Link to comment

bug and snake
As far as I can tell, there are three maps available to buy right now. Thus, there are many more spelling and grammatical horrors on the site than there is available product. Thanks, but no-thanks. Quote Link to comment

+9Key
If I remember correctly, a few years back there was a site that tried something similar - a pay to play scheme. +uxorious
If this did turn out to be a real game, it might be fun. However, it would be as much fun to find, as make the maps. I don't know about the rest of the world, but if I made a map, I would be glad to put it on a free web site so others could go look for it. That way I could look for their maps also. Oh, wait a minute, we already have that. Geocaching.com! The maps as described, do sound like a different game then geocaching, but the principle is the same. I doubt many players would buy and sell the maps (cache locations). It would become a free exchange, like geocaching. Quote Link to comment
