  1. I made this one this morning after one of mine recently got muggled:
  2. I've tried for 2 days to update my profile info but all I get is a blank page when I click onto the "edit your profile" link. Is this only available to premium members now or is it a technical issue? Thanks
  3. Thanks guys, that was a big help
  4. Is there any way to change your user name on the geocaching website without re-registering? I know you can change your password and other info under "edit your profile" but I can't find anywhere to change your user name. Thanks, Reg
  5. Have you ever had one of those caches that you just couldn't put your greedy little fingers on? I had one in a nearby town that I searched for 4 times. I felt like an idiot when I finally found it and realized that the last time I was there I had actually stood on the darn thing It was hidden under a root system that was covered by leaves. How about the rest of ya, have you searched for a single cache multiple times to finally find it?
  6. 2003 Nissan Xterra I had a '99 Chevy Tahoe but the transmission starting acting crazy at 139,000 miles so I dumped it
  7. What is the proper term for non-geocaching folks? I've seen it written both ways on the forums and in log entries. Just curious!
  8. I'd say do it. I just recently started combining my hiking trips with geocaching. My longest hike so far is 60 miles and I've done 2 others over 40 miles.
  9. I just purchased this little guy and I'm going to make a hitchhiker out of him. This will be my first travel bug. Anyone else have any photos of your trinkets or photos of interesting ones you have found?
  10. I entered a cache site for approval by geocaching.com but was refused publication because it was within 500 ft. of one of my other caches. I guess I should have checked this before I submitted my cache for review. Anyway, I went to remove the micro container today and had, what I thought, was a good idea. Inside the front cover of the log book of my original cache I added the following: BONUS CACHE "Land Between The Lakes" N 36 xx.xxx W 077 xx.xxx geocaching.com refused to publish this find because it was within 500 ft. of this cache. This is a log only cache in a 35mm film container. Location is in the title above. HINT: see back cover of this book for the hint. I realize that anyone that finds this cache won't get credit for it, but I figured since they were already in the area, it would be a cool surprise. What do you think? Is this a bad idea?
  11. I checked out the site and there is not one of these treasure hunts within 250 miles on my location - no thank you! The best things in life are free!
  12. Fanny pack with the following: GPS Extra batteries Cell Phone Matches Digital Camera Notebook and Pen 2 bottles of water Trashbag Flashlight raingear (when needed) ...and a new item I'm going to add soon, a compass!
  13. My mom and I went searching for a cache a few days ago. The coordinates at the top of the web page were to a parking area. Once at the parking area, you had to switch to a different set of coordinates to find the actual cache. We arrived at the parking lot and got out of the car. I began following the arrow to the cache and ended up 2.5 ft. from a tree in the middle of the parking lot. There I was looking all over the ground and up in the tree and in the grass along the curb. I probably searched the area for a good 5 or 10 minutes and then I realized that I was supposed to enter the other coordinates and follow a trail. Boy, did I feel like an idiot! Please tell me I'm not the only one to ever do this?
  14. This is the hint to a cache I have searched for 3 different times. The cache is supposedly hidden on a loop trail. In other words the trail is like a big circle. Hint: "Walk from the turn in the path to the clearing, turn back towards the path, look just a little left for the V tree, look under it." The trail is one big turn with several clearings and V trees (I counted 17)
  15. Oh my God, that's just aweful! Wait.....never mind......that is me!
  16. I have downloaded entire web pages onto my laptop and carried it in a backpack.
  17. "Right click" on the image and select "save image as" Once it has been saved to your hard drive, go to the image and right click onto the file name and open using Internet Explorer or what ever browser you are using. Or, you can view it with Windows picture and fax viewer.
  18. Here is an animated graphic I threw together. I don't know if this is what you are looking for but it's the best I could come up with on short notice.
