+Mark 42
Team Misguided Take a look at what their philosophy is: quote:Our goal is to find a way to approve every cache we review. If we archive your cache is it so we can work with you to find a way to make it fit with in the guidelines. Please feel free to email us at any time with questions regarding cache approval. One way to speed the approval of your caches is to put comments in the note to approver field in the cache submission page. This is a way for you to include information on final coords for a multi cache, permission information for private property or any info you want us as an approver to know. We will delete the comments before the cache goes live. +El Diablo
embi brings this to mind. The biggest unfairness of this contest is that not all cachers read the fourms. Some appovers have more cahers that participate in the fourms than others. As I stated in the original thread... I was getting votes for people I have never heard of and I have been around awhile. The international cachers were especially at a disadvantage. The biggest reward that ALL Appovers got thoughout this, is the praise and appreciation of your fellow cachers. +erik88l-r
I'm humbled to be among those in the running. I was hoping we'd have a swim suit competition, but I guess an essay puts us on more of an even playing field. As English is not my native tongue and I've been doing mostly eurocache approvals can I write my essay in another language? If I can make up a language I'd feel even better about it. Just kidding, I think with the help of babblefish I can compose something halfway intelligable in English. What's the topic of the essay again? Could it be Land-Rover carb rebuilding, or something else I know about, or does it have to be about geocaching? Can I have Keystone Approver act as a ghost writer for me or do I have to do it myself? This is all pretty intimidating for a simple Georgia boy. ~erik~ Quote Link to comment
+El Diablo
I can see that some of the Approvers are being intimidated by the thought of an essay. You're right...we will probably see more humorous than serious essays. Which is fine. We could use some humor in these fourms. Of course the real question is...if your an Approver in the contest, do you take the easy out and write a funny essay, or do you do the hard serious essay? If 9 out of 10 go for the funny...then the 1 serious will be a shoo in. Hmmm?? Also who is going to be brave enough to post the 1st essay? +El Diablo
I think there is some confusion about the voting and when to vote. Let me try to clear it up some. All 10 Approvers on the list must submit an essay no later than Friday Oct 31st by 5pm EST. If they don't submit an essay by that time they will not be eligible to win. Voting will start Friday Oct 31st after 5pm EST, and will go until Sunday Nov 2nd 5pm EST. All votes must be sent to me via email which you can do through my profile or you can send it to JC364@aol.com Any votes posted to the thread will not count, nor will any votes recieved prior to the start of voting. If any Approvers want to wait until the last minute to post but can't because of whatever, can email me their essay and I will post it at the last minute. Anymore questions, let me know.
