Marky Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 Hey, that's a cool new tab in the User Profile. Neat to see everything broken out like that. --Marky "All of us get lost in the darkness, dreamers learn to steer with a backlit GPSr" Quote
mikemtn Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 I just stumbled onto the new profile page. Did it just come out or did I miss something? Mike Quote
BullDogBob&Double00 Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 It just hit in the last 5 min. I like it! Great job, Jeremy! "WITHOUT GEOGRAPHY YOU'RE NOWHERE....Jimmy Buffett Quote
bthomas Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 Nice to have the breakdown. Found I have 2 more locationless than I thought. I do already have a wishlist item: a tally total that corresponds to the cache page total found. Fussy, perhaps, but bugs and BM's are now listed mixed in with cache types. Thanx Jeremy. Quote
travisl Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 Very cool. I've been waiting to see this for a long time. WWJD? JW RTFM. Quote
jollybgood Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 Wow that IS kewl. Funny too. Some people feel locationaless caches are simply a lame way to pad your find count. I really don't care but the Stats Tab certainly is telling. Those locationless finds kinda jumps right out at ya. I was kinda surpirsed I had no loationless caches. I thought I recalled doing at least one a year or so back. Hmmmmm.... but I DO have 15 "mystery" caches listed. I'm not sure exactly what those are. Guess I'll have to go educate myself. Jolly R. +jollybgood Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 Oh lord. IT just hit me what this means to the forums. i can see arguments on the forum breaking down into the following; "CacheHawg I know you feel all high and mighty because you have 800 finds but I just checked your stats. 623 Locationaless caches?? Give me a break. Come back after you've logged some REAL caches." This is like giving a belt-fed automatic weapon to the masses. There's going to be a serious loss of hitpoints in the coming battles. Should be fun to watch. By the way this could be addicting. Anyone else finding themselves suddenly checking out profiles? It's like running a credit report on strangers. ;D Jolly R. +Jeremy Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 I thought about randomizing a score for everyone without explaining what it was, and let people try to figure out why it exists. +clearpath Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 The new User Profile page is groovy. It is also far out and cool to boot. Quote

pnew Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 can we use html in our profiles now or could we always? Also is there some way to total it all down at the bottom of the list. I like to keep up with my numbers for my own reasons and now I have to do all this adding! lol could you have them totaled? other then that it looks great! I agree, it would be great if the total number of caches were listed at the bottom of the cache finds. The stats for me says I found 1 Moun10bike coin, I don't remember ever finding one of those. +Breaktrack Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 Oh yeah, forgot to comment on the topic, sheesh.... The profile page is great. I truly appreciate the work that has to go into the creation and maintenance of this site. I cannot imagine sending an e-mail or posting a topic in the forums containing a complaint. I have been deeply impressed with how this site has progressed and this is just the latest innovation. Keep up the good work, we are looking forward to future improvements and doo-dads. P. S. - would it be considered a complaint to say I really, really, really miss the map pages with the different little cache symbols....sigh. Okay, okay, no complaint, just being wistful.... +cachecrazies Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 Yep - we're also checking out our own stats - amazing what you forget - or don't realize what category they're in! Not apologizing for any of them either - we've found some locationless to be even more fascinating than "regular" caches -the locationless have made us more aware of our everyday surroundings - what could be bad about that? We're not taking the drive to work for granted anymore - we're paying attention to our surroundings! And we love the new frog Jeremy! Geocaching expands your horizons - not your butt! Quote
carleenp Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 I love the stats breakdown! Great work. The quality of this site and improvements such as this makes me feel my $3/month are well spent. Quote

Crusso Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 Dam*, I own more caches than I thought! Guess I better run out & do some cache maintenance! Great, now my new goal is to own at least one of every type of cache so I can get all the little icons on my stats board! I can see it now: "I'll trade you ownership of a real cache for two virts!" Hey Jeremy, can we get little animated icons?! How about we find a way to attach electronic trading cards to each cache so we can collect em? You log a "find", you get to "collect" an electronic baseball card type thingi into a "portfolio" linked to your stats page..... Then when you click on someone's portfolio, you can see little representative image cards from each cache found. Quote

At first I thought it was unnecessary to have 2 tabs (profile and user stats) until I clicked on somebody with a lot of finds AND hides. I don't have any hides yet and there are a few types of caches I haven't or won't find (locationless caches). I then realized why there were 2 tabs. The only addition I can see to the 'user stats' page is a total hides and total finds listing (that's covered in another thread already). I think that more things should be possible on the Profile page - but until this idea was posted I didn't know what. I know mine is bare but I'm a boring guy and I didn't know what to write. I think a slot for people to list ICQ/AIM/MSN/YAHOO ID'S would be great. I think there's already a webpage listing as well as alternate email - so this would go along with it.
