+TheCat
Geocache2004 on 28-08-2004 to 29-08-2004 Following on from the success of the HCC event last year. I have been working with Leicestershire County Council to arrange a venue for a 2 day event over the August Bank Holiday 2004. Following several visits to Leicestershire, I am pleased to announce that all the permissions have now been obtained and the event will be held at Beacon Hill Country Park in Leicestershire, on the Saturday & Sunday of that weekend. I would like this event to be organized by a group of cachers for cachers and those new to the sport as a fun weekend. As this event has the potential to be the biggest geocaching event outside the USA. I do not want the event to be branded by any organization. All will be welcome and encouraged to take part. We are setting up a seperate web site for this event and full details will be provided ASAP. Loads more information will be available on the new site as soon as it is setup. +minstrelcat
Well done Mark and whoever else is involved. Before anyone has a moan/rant I like to say to them - if you don't like it you don't have to be involved. Lisa Quote Link to comment
Sparticus
Way to go Mark. If you need any help at the event I'm sure there will be loads of offers, myself + Mrs sparticus included. Onwards and upwards. Never retreat, never surrender. Quote Link to comment
+John Stead
So the secret is out. Well done Mark and whoever else is involved. Date noted immediately. Will be very sad if I can't be there and able to help. Mott the Hoople, now revived and renamed, was the first cache I found way back in May 2001 when unknown to me the Park was closed because of foot and mouth , I had gone in from land which was open to the public without realizing I had crossed a boundary! At that time it was the nearest to home (100 miles) and only 37 in the country. Happy to be member of GAGB and user of GeocacheUK Quote Link to comment
MikeXV535
Nice of you to choose my birthday for this event No need to put it in my diary as I`ve had 40 reminders of it so far! Mike. Quote Link to comment
+Paul G0TLG
I'm too far away to help with setup, but barring accident or injury I'll be there on the day. If you need some cachers to shepherd muggles or whatever, count me in for a shift. Paul A member of the Geocaching Association of Great Britain Quote Link to comment

+stu_and_sarah
We're there already! I'm not sure we can help leading up to the event - life's a bit unpredictable at the moment, but it's in the diary and we'll do everything we can over the weekend to help. Quote Link to comment
+Nottrikk
Well, I'd love to help out, but I'm hitting people with swords that weekend. Shame really as it's just on my doorstep. If you need any help with prep before the event. I'll be happy to do anything I can. Mark Team Nottrikk Quote Link to comment
