Speaking of which, I'll be in Springfield, VA, April 24-28 on a business trip; if anyone wants a TB to gain some miles, let me know. I already have Princess Toadstool's Samuel Ride TB.

GoBolt: congrats; where's the bachelor party :) ?

How about some drinks after Thursday's shindig icon8.gif?

OK, the YMS #11 (T. R. Violin) cards are done and packaged up in packs of 5 plus one misprint, plus one YMS #007 (Dr. Boggis) card in each pack. Six packs in all (30 YMS #11 cards minus one that I am keeping for myself, 6 YMS #11 misprints, and 6 YMS #007 cards). I will be placing these packs in the next suitable caches that I visit. For ease of logging, I will refer to these packs simply as the YMS #11 Packs. Gecko Dad will be releasing the Udesignit TB some time this weekend.

Howdy, I received the following from a geocacher in Oklahoma. I work the day of the Marathon, but if anyone is planning to watch the Marathon in person, maybe you can help him out? (I think it's the Rock n Roll Marathon, June 5th).

Pqmommy,

Your pineapple upside-down cake was delicious and it caused a big commotion when it arrived at the "Cachin' in Fashion" event.

Well, sure, some of the commotion might have been because I was dabbing a pat of pineapple juice from the cake behind each of my earlobes.

Helene of the HelBob Duo handed me a plate right away and insisted that I cut and eat the first piece for all to watch. I was surprised at how many attendees were aware of our pineapple upside-down cake repartee.

Of course I returned to the food-table later on and happily found a second serving. I told most everyone that the moral of this cake story is that shameless groveling and whining can pay off.

Happy to oblige, Harmon. But I'm not sure dabbing pineapple juice behind your ears was such a good idea. Might make the missus think twice about letting you out at night again.

I sure wish I could have been there last night, but mommy duties called. PQDad had a great time and came home spouting all sorts of new acronyms. Thanks to all of you who set it up, sounded like a whole lot more work than calling and reserving a room at Round Table!

Congrats to the Dynamic Chaching Duo of Flagman and Duscwe - 1500 Caches!!! can T.T. keep ahead of the Duo or will he be overtaken in the quest for geocaches.....stay tuned on this bat channel

on a side note: anyone wanna go caching saturday up sunrise highway and around there...heard there might be a couple of cowboy caches to do.

I do! I do! When and where do we meet. I would love my 100th cache to be one of the SCC caches.

For pure enjoyment be sure to do cowboy caches 2, 5, 7, 11, and 12. La Posta Truck Trail is maintained and the out-back setting is definitely bucolic.

This set of caches are nicely grouped along the truck trail and all are easily reached. The road gates at each end of Thing Valley Road are closed so coming through from Sunrise Highway to La Posta Truck Trail ain't an option right now.

Keep watch for deer trails amongst the Chamise thickets and look for Mountain Peony as you approach cowboy seven.

When you pass the ranch notice that Sandy Creek is still runnng and the roadside ponds are filled. With any luck the horses will be out munching in the field. Shalla and Khirla are the two white Arabians, Happy is the brown walker, and Doc is the black gelding.

As you drive up toward cowboy eleven and twelve you will have a birds-eye view of Thing Ranch to the east. Historic Thing Valley Ranch is located seven miles above Sandy Creek Ranch but not accessible. The historic La Posta Ranch is located where la Posta Road joins Old Highway 80.

Please take and post lots of photos of your outing. Unfortunately Harmon and Carpenter from Hell will not be at the ranch through the weekend.

Y'all come,

The Sandy Creek Cowboys

I was definitely a fan of John Lennon's. :D His music was the soundtrack to my college career. :D

. . . but I didn't know all that about the number "9." Very interesting -- spooky -- stuff there . . . :D

Guess I better get out there and find number 100 and get the car up to 20000+ miles. I was thinking Lawson #4 would be a good cache for #100. It has a terrain rating of 4.5, so it would certainly be memorable!

It just might not be a good cache to go for on one of my usual solo excursions . . . I didn't do so well the last time I tried to get to the top . . . <_<:lol:

Congrats to Flagman and Duscwe! on 1500 caches!

Thanks a kilo and a half for your congrats! Can't think of a single cache find that I didn't enjoy -- some more than others, of course, but all certainly have great qualities to them. Hate to do too much reminiscing 'cause I'm sure to leave someone out, but some of my favorites:

- Mustang Sally by Bunthorne -- archived now, but the first and still a favorite

- Archies Place by Team Gecko -- took me to a place near where I grew up that I didn't even know about

- Tuna View of San Diego -- took me to about a dozen places I didn't know about

- First Contact by Parsa -- my first real puzzle cache -- I remember trying to figure this out at a golf tournament and my partners looking at me like I was crazy

- King Geepius, and all of his troubles -- classic story puzzles with great hikes/views

- Everything ever done by the DAK Girls -- pure genious -- I really thought I was going to be found dead at the Fear Factor cache

- Snakes & Ladders - never thought I would ever get out of the paths of hell, or whatever they were called!

- That Tuna cache on top of Mount Woodson -- unbelievable rock up there

- Sea-to-Sea Challenge -- The shotgun goes off at midnight and the race is on -- The FTF story on The Rattler is a classic! I think I was the last to complete all 25 before several burned up in the fire

- C2C #1, of course, with the great helicopter ride

- The October 2003 campout with FlagSon Andrew -- we got to 400 then, I think, and had a super great time, but couldn't really relish in it 'cause our house burned down the next day

- Mission Trails -- all of it -- I have lived in SD my entire life and never set foot in this awesome place until I was brought there by Geocaching

- Shandon's Dam caches -- seems like a new one would pop up right after I got the last one -- kept me in shape for a while!

- RUSCAL's "Vista Del.." caches and Splashes "I CAN SEE.." caches

- FATTBOY re-defining the terrain level rating system.....

- Dan-oh and CAMMO...

- Sandy Creek Cowboys -- side splittin' fun

- Iron Mountain -- see comment for Mission Trails

- Puzzles! Love 'em and hate 'em! Can't not solve them! Thanks, TT, for kick-starting the locals into puzzle caching. And thanks to all the rest of your puzzlers out there for spicing things up!

- The Yrium Memorial cache and Colette's View -- these caches have really touched my heart

- And, of course, all the names without faces, whose faces have now become so familiar! I can't remember how many months of geocaching went by before I actually met another cacher. I remember thinking how strange that, from reading all the logs, I was getting to know all these people that I had never even met. Now I have met and gotten to know so many dozens of cachers. I consider so many of you to be great friends. Fifteen hundred thanks to ALL of you out there for all the GREAT times!! B)<_<:D:D:lol::D:D:D:D:D:D

As for me, there no risk there! TT (and Duscwe!) blew past me like I was standing still! Both Jeff and Duncan gave me at least a 12-month head start.....

It seems that my few travel bugs flutter, disappear, or dissolve into oblivion but Lost Girl has been on quite an adventure since we dropped her off in Hawaii on a family vacation last year. I now live vicariously through a McDonalds Kids Meal toy! B)

Good journey for your travel bug. Hope it keeps having good luck.

Our Tarry Knott TB has a great chance of making it entirely around the world. For a while it seemed that it was gone for good in England. Turned out that a finder rediscovered it while decorating for Christmas and then logged and placed it. Last we heard it was picked up in England and is going to be placed somewhere near Toronto.

myMarie knows how much I dislike solving evil mystery/puzzle cache's, so when I proposed this one she got a big grin on her face. This is my answer to those seemingly unsolvable evil mystery/puzzle cache's, another seemingly unsolvable evil mystery/puzzle cache. So we bet a beer on how long before a FTF, I say at least 7 days, she says within 4.

GOOD LUCK! Sometimes here... sometimes there...

O.K. you two Beatles fans, so where are your John Lennon Geocaches?

Hey TrailGators, finally I understand your fetish for unbunched white socks and Lava Lamps.
