+westdorsetgardners
So, after a couple of years of downloading my pocket queries coords onto my Etrex H and data onto my ipod which is an time-consuming affair, I now want one handheld GPS which can easily show the caching pages, logs, coords and maps all in one. I have tried my mobile with trimble app but not as accurate as a gps. I havn't got loads of money so what do you you guys suggest, what do you use for paperless caching? Many thanks Quote Link to comment
+eusty
I use a Garmin Colorado 300, picked it up cheap off ebay and I have to admit I love it, great little GPS Apart from ebay, the new etrex 20 when it comes out will fit your bill. Quote Link to comment

Just seen the new range of Etrex's, they look like just what I need, the etrex 30 even has a compass which works even when standing still!! excellent advice many thanks! Quote Link to comment
+Cornell Finch
I would seriously consider the new Magellan units. Looking at them at the Mega, they were great. Quote Link to comment
+NattyBooshka
I'm an eTrex (2 different ones) and iPhone man... but am looking at the eTrex 30 as it supports the new russian system in parallel with GPS so will give better coverage and more chance of decent signal... as do the 10 and the 20. I get a compass to turn off with the 30 though lol. Edited September 25, 2011 by NattyBooshka Quote Link to comment
Degucacher
Currently using a Dakota 20 and iPhone 4. Quote Link to comment
+drdick&vick
Started with a Etrex Legend HC with a PDA for the paperless bit. Moved onto a GPS Map60Cx with the PDA and then onto a Oregon 300 as a stand alone paperless caching system. Just moved up to a GPS Map62s. Quote Link to comment
+Gackt
Currently using an old Garmin emap along with my Sony Ericsson K800i phone with cache data saved to it either as a flat text file, or html via GSAK, depending on whether I am going to look for just one or two, or if I am going to do a ring. Very much most of the time it is just one or two here and there. That setup does me just fine, but am looking for an all in one solution too for my son for Christmas, on a budget. The new eTrex 20 as mentioned by someone else is looking just perfect, but maybe a little too much price wise though. Looking around the Dakota 10 seems to be available new now for around the £130 mark which looks quite good value to me. Quote Link to comment

+mcwomble
Satmap Active 10 with OS 50K maps or 25K map for Essex. GPX files either loaded direct from site or after collation in GSAK. Quote Link to comment

+The Blorenges
I've just written a very detailed review of the new Magellan eXplorist 710 (includes the 610 and 510) focusing on using it for geocaching including paperless (unlimited PQ storage!!). The review isn't finished and there are a few things to add. You can read what I've done so far here (pdf document). Includes prices and where to buy it (there is an excellent deal available at the moment - details in the review). I'll be happy to answer any questions on it (if I can!) +Dorsetgal & GeoDog
I use Garmin Colorado 300 with the (free) maps when in the countryside and iPhone about town. Perfect comb Quote Link to comment
+Ranger Roo
I have a Satmap Active 10- and it works really well - was worried at first as you can't do paperless geocaching from a mac properly - but now I have a little netbook which runs windows and it's really straightfoward to drag and drop the PQs/GPX files onto it.
