  1. Remove all the GPX files in \Garmin\GPX as if it detects any 'old' non-PM ones it will default to listing ALL GPX's as non-PM.
  2. No, you are in good company here! When you turn up at GZ and there is loads of rubbish laying about, and the location is poor we sigh
  3. By hard reset do you mean this way? Has it got a memory card in? Is so does it do this when you remove it. Also can you see the drives when you connect to a PC? If so delete any GPX files.
  4. I read the title and was going to say "go for the 450". .....but everyone else has said it for me!
  5. This post proves to me it's not just a tax issue that they have 'found' and decided to pay....
  6. I used to use a bluetooth GPS when using my Galaxy S as I found it much better than the inbuilt one. It only cost about £15 and another benefit is that the battery lasted longer on the phone. But after buying a 'proper' GPS I only ever use a phone (now an S3) if I don't have the GPS with me.
  7. But stick to 12!! While changing the rendering engine is one thing......they decided to remove all the customisation, and really screw up the handing of bookmarks. How to ruin a great browser (oh and they did the same with the mobile version).
  8. What is it with geocachers who play both games....the unmentionable one with QR codes? I keep finding these in my caches, are they too lazy to find a place for them, other than hijacking someone's cache? Grrrr...as you can guess they get binned.
  9. Which is OK, but only to a point. Although I don't live in an area like Chicago there is still the same issue. Generating PQ's by date is fine for older caches, but as you get nearer to the current date the number of caches seems to rise at an exponential rate. I can't remember exactly but I think I was working on a 50 mile radius, but it was getting that I was making a PQ for placed caches with a timespan of about every 4 months to get below 1000...resulting in lots of PQ's!! The way around this is to reduce the radius...but then you come back to the problem of overlapping if you want to cache more than 10 miles away or so? If I lived in a cache dense area it would be even harder.
  10. You can get it to work if you use Opera Mobile, but make sure you download the Classic version
  11. My guess it's the same as the Colorado and Oregon....go to log the cache and select Not Attempted. Not Attempted.
  12. Like most it depends on the time it took to make the cache container. My reasoning is that if they are 'paying geocachers' then they will be less likely to take something which I've spent quite a bit of time/money on.
  13. Thanks JimJinks....works for me on Opera
  14. As you are not a PM my guess is that you loaded them with the 'Send To' button on the site? If you connect a PC to the etrex and navigate to \Garmin\GPX and you will see all the files for each cache in there. Transferring a load of caches is so much easier if you are a PM....
  15. NFC is an option, although it seems they aren't that popular if you count the finds on mine
  16. Not really, you can get a etrex 20 for that, or an Oregon 450 for £150 at Handtec.
  17. If it's really cheap then maybe, but there are quite a few newer models out there.
  18. You done the right thing in my book Might be worth an email to the CO if they are still active.
  19. If they are still caching that is....
  20. I had this happen a couple of times to me and also been the one arriving to look when someone has the cache. All of the times I've given the cache to the one looking, and also been given the cache from the person who found it....why make life hard?

If you use GSAK then there's a macro for that
  22. I don't remember seeing a Reset.... ....but when I went to the site again it looked different and couldn't see my intercache. Looks like I made it on the old site, which is the first Google hit on the search 'intercache'. Maybe worth just putting a redirect to the new site?
