+summerandnana
Beautiful sunny day here in California so I ventured out to the Post Office and got my 2 Penguin Missions sent. I did however forget to mention in my cards that it was the Penguins. I slipped both my cards in mailers as I was afraid of them getting mangled in the machines. I got home to discover that one of my cards had arrived and it was mangled with the coin envelope hanging part way out. Luckily it got stuck and all is well. Thank you so much Maine Family for the beautiful coin, can't recall ever seeing it before. I will find my camera and take a picture to post later. Thank you Butterfly_lady for all your hard work, this is really fun. I sent a little something off to you today, hope it makes it before Christmas Quote Link to comment

+Butterfly_lady
Just a note to all.... This mission is being tracked by the penguins.... So please do post in this forum when you have mailed out your Christmas cards.... You will turn BLUE on the tracking list..... Then when you recieve a card, please post again. Include where it came from (country will do - check the stamps / postmark) so that on the receiving list you will turn PINK. This tracking allows the penguins to see that all those who sign up both meet the obligations of joining a mission, and enjoy the rewards of being in the mission. Many thanks Quote Link to comment

+Eclectic Penguin
Both missions arrived today - and what marvelous offerings they contained! The first to open came from an European destination - The Netherlands. It was anonymous, but they acknowledged that I have a penguin themed coin in the making at the moment, so someone who reads the coin forums I suspect! And YES!! A March of the Penguins coin! There's been a friendly banter between me and another local cacher (Penguins Annon) as we meet in various events about her March of the Penguins coin - I frequently joke that the coin may not be on the coin table by the end of the evening... No need any more - I now have my very own March of the Penguins coin - I'm so happy! Thankyou! I don't have a big coin collection but this is definitely being added to it! On top of this, was another trackable coin - another first for me as I've never come across a pathtag item before - most interesting!. Once again - thankyou to my colleague in the Netherlands (a country I've frequently visited in the past both for leisure and for business). The second post came from Oregon from the Burgess family! The envelope had a lovely drawing of a family of penguins enjoying Christmas together, with gifts being bestowed by Santa Penguin! inside was a collection of penguin stickers and a large Christmas wrapped - and dare I say it quite heavy coin. On opening the coin, I find one of the most impressive Geocoins I've ever seen. A Christmas themed coin with snowmen. The translucent enamel gives the effect of a stained glass window, but there's more - one of the panes in the window is actually a moving part and can rotate! I've seen these features in other coins, but not all in one coin! Lovely and will be also joining my other small collection and visiting many an event to come I hope (the next being on the 28th December!). This coin was made by Hogwildstuff. Thanks to both the penguin's helpers who sent me these - they both made my day! Eclectic Penguin Edited December 9, 2008 by Eclectic Penguin Quote Link to comment
