  1. Any chance you have the 12-12-12 Indiana coin left? (or any trackable or non-trackable Nerds?)
  2. Received my coin from NevadaNick today. My outgoing coin to Argentumverde was sent off a week ago last Saturday (13th).
  3. Wow, I hadn't check on my racer (#11) for a long time and was surprised to see it was in third place back in September! I still got occasional reports of movement every couple of weeks, but I doubt it was anywhere near enough to catch the leaders!
  4. Any chance you have any Geocoin Nerds (trackable or non-trackable) that you want to part with?
  5. Hummer #14 was waiting for me when I got back from Afghanistan. It's ready and rarin' to go!
  6. Looking forward to this! Looks like it'll get to my house about the same time I do!
  7. Possum Hunter, for a long time virtual logging wasn't permitted by Groundspeak and they would lock coins for it. A lot of us who were around in those times became very protective of people logging our coins who hadn't actually seen them. We developed a fortress mentality to our coins and were hyper-vigilant in trying to protect them! In hindsight, most of it was just a bit of an over reaction. I can see you were caching during some of that time, although I don't know if you were visiting the forums then. There are still people around who think logging a "discovery" is "cheating" and they won't log a trackable unless they actually moved it from one cache to another. Every few months the forums would blow up as someone new came along and asked the question. To our shame we didn't always react well to new cachers coming to ask the questions we'd just spent weeks arguing over until the mods threatened to shut down the threads and give people time outs! I used to be one of those who refused to log trackables I hadn't seen, but since Groundspeak has relaxed their stance I've mellowed considerably. With almost 900 activated coins I get hit with bogus logs rather frequently, although lately it seems it's been people making typos while trying to discover other coins and not from a list. So now instead of just deleting the log (which I did for years), I try to see if I can figure out which coin they were trying to log and send them the correct number. I've been successful a few times. The game continues to grow and develop. We should do the same. (Or at the very least allow other to do so, even if we stay hidden in our fortresses! )
  8. Simmer down people. No one on this thread has advocated posting other people's tracking numbers. The fact of the matter is that Groundspeak has changed their stance on virtual logs, and have said it's up to the coin owners to decide if they will allow it for their own coins. It's now just another facet of how people play the game differently.
  9. Aw, I didn't come back to the forums in time for a second guess. Congrats to the winners!
  10. Lol, Bartians, if he's here it's probably too late already! My suggestion is collect what you like, and like the coins you collect. Don't get caught up in getting coins just because others say how "cool," "Limited," or hard to get they are. If a coin doesn't mean anything to you, don't worry about it, let it go. There are plenty out there that will.
  11. I have 7 of the Afghanistan coins still available. $15 each +$6 for US shipping. The Afghanistan coins have a different icon than the other ones. All those that have paid for have been shipped, and should arrive in time for Pi Day! I have 3 still available. Still time left to get them to US destinations in time! Sent you a note through your geocaching profile....thanks! Got it, They'll be in the mail tomorrow. And then there was one... Until after the event and I see if any of those I set aside for it are left...

They are not arriving by avalanche are they ... ?? ... Lol, no, but to get to some parts of the country they might have to go through one!

  16. Here is my Afghanistan edition!
  17. Hooray! You got yours so mine shouldn't be far behind! I'll start shipping mine out as soon as they arrive so they get to their destinations in time for Pi Day. For everyone who wanted some of mine, it looks like shipping is going to be a flat $6.00 if you have a US address and $10 for the rest of the world. The only option for shipping things bigger than a letter out of Afghanistan is Priority mail. I'll send totals once I have them in hand. Will you send out invoices to us on the list, or just post here? I don't want to miss out on yours! I will send invoices. Right now I have requests from NevadaNick, Imoutnabout, DrNeal, Pan314159, Ashrak_22, gorfnor, Sivota, steben6, & Zepp914. I have 11 coins still available. If you aren't on the list and would like any of them send me an email. The cost is $15 each.

  19. That's very cool. I love the stories of people finding mystery coins in their pockets! Somehow I missed seeing this thread until now.
  20. In simplest terms a mathtrade allows you to trade coins with people who have coins to trade, but may not want your specific coins. In a normal 2 person trade you each have to be willing to trade for what the other person has. A gives a coin to B, B gives a coin to A. If B doesn't have anything A wants, then they both are out of luck. In a mathtrade A gives to B who gives to C who gives to A. Everybody gets a coin they want, even though the person they gave a coin to may not be the person who gave them a coin to complete the trade. Everybody posts the coins they have for trade, and from that list they pick the coins they want (for each coin you want to trade you pick from the list of available coins which coins you would be willing to accept in trade for your coin). The mathtrade computer program then matches up the requests and arranges the trade. The trade chain for a particular coin may have a dozen or more people in it. Bottom line: You trade your coins, and get only the coins you want for them. I'd like to be in, but if the process starts in March it may be too early for me; I don't get home until April.
