In a manner of speaking, they are EARNED by being an active participant in the Forums and other social areas pertaining to geocoins. The mystery coin senders don't just send them to everyone 'on a list'. Stick around, be active, contribute ... and you may one day receive your own special package !! We've considered purchasing some at times, but money is always tight. We're hoping to win one at an event someday, but those chances are extremely slim. Then, of course, there's the whole 'sharing the address in a public forum' thing is risky at best. I suppose we'll just have to chalk this up to wishful thinking. No 'guarantees'. Receiving a mystery coin from a mystery sender is usually prefaced by some reasonable activity and participation in the Forum or geocoin collecting in general. If you just add your name to the list and sit back and wait for a coin to magically appear, you may be waiting for a while ... welcome to the Forum !! Quote
