alistair_uk
Doesn't anyone think nine is a bit excessive? To be honest I did not notice we were up to 9. As soon as a topic is pinned I tend not to notice it. Personally I would not pin any, with the possible exception of a congrats thread (that I am happy to diaper in to obscurity), but that is just my opinion. Quote Link to comment
+Simply Paul
We could certainly manage without the congratulations one. Quote Link to comment
SNAKEBITER
I did read one or two when I first joined but then they just fade into the background. However I do have a tendency to ignore/not notice things that I should really be reading carefully. Quote Link to comment

My opinion too....I hate the durn things I have to open them to read the first line and then if I see a Congrats then I just delete it. Quote Link to comment

+rutson
Quite Dino. I had most of them ignored when I could use FF and GM, just noticed now how flipping many there are Quote Link to comment

+Lost in Space
Doesn't anyone think nine is a bit excessive? Considering the number of "What GPS?", What PDA?", and "Congratulations" threads we still get on the regular forums, it would appear that nobody looks at the pinned threads............ I personally would like to see an "Inane" thread pinned - Any posting that begins with "Who", "How many", or "Does anybody else.." but there again, the posters that will be, will not read it before posting on the main forum......... +The HERB5
Can they be pinned at the BOTTOM. Actually, that's not a bad idea... Quote Link to comment
+bhodisatva
Can we have a pinned thread for whingeing, whining and griping threads please? Would enable me to just scroll right past them then and get to more relevant topics like this months bitch about micros. Quote Link to comment
+stora
Can they be pinned at the BOTTOM. Actually, that's not a bad idea... Maybe we could have two new moderators to look after the pinned topics Quote Link to comment
Remote Part
There is rather a lot of pinned topics, and it does mean a lot more scrolling down past them. Also because they are pinned, I often don't notice if there's a new post on one of them. What I would suggest is one pinned topic, and within the first post of that, it can have links to all of the other "important" topics (i.e. the ones that are currently pinned). That would take up much less screen space, and threads will get bumped to the top when they get a new post, and so they will be noticed. Quote Link to comment
Lactodorum
Interesting that this has been brought up now as I've been thinking the same over the past week or two. I wondered whether I should "unpin" some of them to tidy up the list. The tricky question is "Which ones"? Some seem to get regular postings so maybe they can be left to fend for themselves. Maybe others are just looked at, for reference, but don't get postings. I dunno, what do you think? Quote Link to comment

+HazelS
Personally I don't care how many pinned, or unpinned topics we have - they all get read, and so are important to somebody. What I do object to is other people policing the boards, rather than a moderator! Quote Link to comment

+Mr'D
ETREX or ETREX LEGEND... I don't think 9 pinned topics is excessive looking at some other newsgroups. Etrex vs. Legend may however be a little specialist though: considering the number of other GPSr's/PDA's used for caching nowdays? I think it should go Jon Quote Link to comment

Geocoins - Posting in this forum I think this is a great idea, to add to it, it should be kept locked so that only the moderators can add links to it, then the actual topic won't get cluttered and people won't get annoyed with having to scroll through loads of info just to find the main topic that they want!! markandlynn
It apears the most popular idea is to have one pinned threads at the top which links to the other popular threads if they rise to the top it means someone has added something. Any duplicate posts can be locked and pointed in the right direction by the friendly locals Congratulations!!!! Adopt-a-newbie! Newbie Info! Uk Geocoin Group Which Gps ?
