+steviep
A local respected cacher/event organiser has come up with a great idea Motorway Mayhem he is hoping to get this nation wide, so any one placing a driveby cache along any stretch of motorway might want to consider his site Quote Link to comment
+rutson
Keep you eyes peeled on J22-J25 M62. When you working Steve? I'll get 'em approved just before your shift Quote Link to comment

+steviep
I guess you mean something like this then:- GCP90A Yes that is what he want's I think, I wonder if they would consider adding that to his site, with a prefix "Motorway Mayhem" in the name of the cache! Quote Link to comment
+HazelS
I'm hoping to do some of this series en route to the big love in!! Quote Link to comment
+Alibags
Excellent idea, there are quite a few M1 motorway junction caches already in place though, and if these could be added, this would be a very useful rescource. Quote Link to comment
+milvus-milvus
See KiwiGary's M1 Drive-by adventure bookmarks. Quote Link to comment
+adambro
Hey!!! Don't you be stealing the first to find chances! Junction 22/23 would be nice though. Oh and nearly a bus route and published during the day when everyone else will be working, that would be even better. Edited January 27, 2006 by adambro Quote Link to comment
+Alibags
There already is a Junction 23 cache and dash and it looks like it's on a bus route to me. Midn you, if somebody places another one (towards Shepshed perhaps) I will be after it with enthusiasm! Quote Link to comment
+badger
See my profile for my motorway Madness series... although the final and the bonus caches are not near a motorway. Matt Quote Link to comment
+rutson
They are near motorways, yes, but not easy drive-bys near motorway junctions. Quote Link to comment

Couldn't see a bookmark list of M62 drivebys so just started putting one together, not loads that look suitable. M62 Drive-bys Quote Link to comment

alistair_uk
For what it is worth this is a great idea. I notice that the A1 link is not currently working and I don’t think that it is me (although I give no guarantees). What about making the list a bit more dynamic like adding the time to do that cache and possibly grouping some together and fluffing them as the 40min diversion for example. Reflection on it I am just confusing things for no reason, please ignore me. Quote Link to comment
+Black Pig & the Piglets
Would service stations qualify? I might be persuaded to place one in the Leicester Forest East service station Which side are you considering, North bound or south? I only ask as Alice Band has already approached me about placing a cache at the services. Perhaps you could do one each, could you contact her & decide amongst yourselves who is to do what? Thanks for your interest though DaveH aka Black Pig BTW the A1 link now works, my fault sorry! Quote Link to comment
+rutson
Working on M62, J22,23,24,25. Been out scouting today. Quote Link to comment
+marknhelen
This is the best idea since the invention of the GPS. I travel the country every week and am always dressed in a suit, so quick and easy drive-bys are excellent. Its not always a good idea to visit a client with muddy shoes and twigs hanging off the suit. I have already downloaded some for tommorrows trip to Kent. Quote Link to comment
+Yorkypudding
Hi, These Motorway Mayhem caches are a great idea, and I have 2. but I was thinking that no one will ever get to where they are going they will be too busy caching lol. We will now need excuses to why we are late and covered in foliage, mud and dog do lol, there will be lots of broken down cars I reckon. Yorkypuddingxx Quote Link to comment
+Yorkypudding
Hi, Glad you enjoyed the Motorway Mayhem caches that you have done up north Mark and Helen. Yorkypuddingxx Quote Link to comment
+marknhelen
I must admit my 4 hour drive was stretched to 6 hours to get 6 caches found and 1 DNF on the way. Luckilly I am going the same way again next week to get the rest. Quote Link to comment
+Black Pig & the Piglets
Well, the MM series has taken off, there are now 25 in the series in just a couple of weeks. There are now caches on the M1, A1, M62, M4 & M56. We still need many more volunteers to set caches on their "patch" If anyone is interested please visit here Motorway Mayhem for links & help. Thanks DaveH aka Black Pig Quote Link to comment
+HazelS
There will be another VERY soon - off the M53 Quote Link to comment
+steviep
There are also 4 placed on the M18, just waiting for me to put them forward for review Quote Link to comment
alistair_uk
I have just noticed that several Motorway Mayhem caches have been added that are member only caches. Granted I do not have premium membership so son not be considered neutral, but to me it does go against open all welcoming ethos some what. Can we make a gentleman’s rule that Motorway Mayhem caches cannot be member only? Doing otherwise will mean that you cannot complete a section of then, or the set for that matter without paying money. Quote Link to comment

alistair_uk
What about a cache off the A1(M) around Washington, Tyne and Wear? Technically it is a motorway grade "A" road but I have a location in mind, so what do you think? Quote Link to comment
