+SD Rowdies
A unusual thing happened at our house ... Yesterday a UPS truck pulled up to our place and dumped a 1-800-FLOWERS carton onto our porch. Sure enough it was addressed to our name, address, and space number. Made no sense to us. Looked in our park telephone book without result and so I called the flowers-number and reported the incorrect delivery. I was thanked and advised that because flowers are perishable, the delivery wouldn't be picked up. Opened the carton and found a condolence card, vase, and bouguet of fragrant lillies. At my age I asked my sweet bride "Is here something I should know, did I pass away?" Today our telephone rang and I was asked "Did you receive a delivery of flowers?" Chat-chat and then ... "A couple of us will come over and pick the flowers up." Three showed up just as my sweet bride returned home to be asked "Are you Sandy?" and "We're here to get the flowers." Imagine her surprise. Hearing the conversation I stepped out of the door to see and realize that Michelle of Geoaching Snflwrmsh fame was leading the recovery team. Go figure, the owner of the "Senior Living" hide that's at the entrance to our park. Some kind of convergence going on ... scawy! Enjoyin' life in Alpine, Content ol' Sue Glad you are pleased Sue, you and Mom and Chelsea deserve the honor, if indeed an honor it is. Actually I've thought of Thirsty Ladies but it stumps me to figure out the membership of that gang of rascals. When it comes down to it ol' Harmon ain't dumb enough to leave-out some card-carrying member of that traveling circus knowing that I might pay a dear price for any such mistake. Of course if somebody can furnish a sanctioned group shot then I can avoid naming names by using the "Thirsty Ladies" text as the banner, except the banner would probably lie horizontally rather than on angle. One thing for sure, I'm really in favor of this task because once upon a time I encountered a roving squad of Thirsty Ladies while out Geocaching and had the pleasure of being scrum-hugged by the lot of them. Jodi as 3D Color-Gradient Sphere See, there's photojournalism where photos are not altered in the least; so they say, and there's photographic art where anything goes. Here's the funny thing ... if a crumpled beer can appears in a photojournalism image it must remain. However, if you ask a photojournalist "Say you notice crumpled beer can in a scene you mean to shoot, do you remove it?" The reply will be "Why, yes, of course do." Go figure. Now I'm not saying that there's any connection between a crumpled beer can and an abstract shot of my gal-pal Jodi. Harmon SD Rowdies Edited August 7, 2011 by SD Rowdies Quote Link to comment
