+Let's Look Over Thayer
(For east-county Geocachers ... a "bourn" is a stream.) Trivia Time The area of London that is known as Marylebone takes its name from a small church, St. Mary's, that was built on the banks of a small stream. Thusly, the name of the church was St. Mary le Bourne (St. Mary at the Stream). Over time, it became shortened to Marylebone. Visitors to Marylebone will probably want to seek out Baker Street (home of Sherlock Holmes) and Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum. The most important location, however, is a block chopped out of the Marylebone High Street, known as Thayer Street. Be sure to stop for a pint at The Angel In the Fields. Quote Link to comment

Doug 7rxc O.K., in the interest of full disclosure, here's the full story on these posts. A. For my birthday my sweet bride gave me an Amazon Kindle. B. On the Internet I found a list of the hundred best books of the century, mostly free from Amazon.com. C. Since mid-December I've read forty-three books of the hundred-best list, for the most part the old classics that I've not read before. D. James of LLOT works ... or worked ... at Qualcom leading the team that developed the Whispernet chip for the Amazon Kindle. E. Photoshopping illustrations found in the old classics I've read was my way of pestering James of LLOT because he deserves it. F. Reading the old classics on a Kindle with the sniffles, you not the Kindle, is one way to avoid the dangers of Geocaching in deep forest with lions, and tigers and bears running hungrily about. G. That Reba hide is in an area named "Sycamore Canyon." As you can see Sycamore Canyon has very few Sycamore trees. Go figure. Does any of this makes sense? Which raises the question how Harmon got his mitts on it... (I suppose it could have happened that the postman misread "Heaven" as "Harmon"...) When y' say "... mitts on it ..." it's clear that you mean the computer. As for the cake it would be "Mouth on it." Truth is Jodi walked up to my front door with cake in hand. Sounds like something that might happen at the United Nations building, huh? It's probably best if I wait to explain this strange occurence until Jodi discovers what I've done and weighs in on this subject. Believe me, setting up the prank cost me several days and evenings of technical support for John's laptop and Jodi's desktop. Slipping under their radar ... that was the trick. We'll soon see how much of a "practical" joke it turns out to be. The best part of the caper is that she unknowingly rewarded my behavior. Edited July 23, 2011 by SD Rowdies Quote Link to comment

Here's the odd thing ... each time I take a slice of Lumberjack cake it seems moments later that two slices were taken. I suspect that my sweet bride has been cutting herself in on this deal when I'm not looking. Of course I'm also on the alert all through the day and night just in case Jodi places a "Lumberjack Cake" hide ... imagine me missing out on a FTF for another Lumberjack cake! Speaking of Lumberjack...We stayed at the Thousand Trails Campground near Otay Lakes this weekend and discovered that a new cafe has opened there! We heard that the Saturday night Rib eye special was to die for but decided to have breakfast there instead. We had the senior special 4 items from the menu and free coffee for $4.00! What a deal! very good food served all day! I heard that the rib eyes were 14-16oz for $7.95..gotta go back...open to the public..shhh it's a secret Was there Lumberjack cake? Was there PUD cake? +FlagMan
Baldy and Goldilocks have asked me to their house tomorrow to fix a computer problem that they have. I don't think that Goldilocks bakes. What should I do? Demand pictures of them and others in compromising positions... Quote Link to comment
