Nice one!

O sure, somehow I knew that you would like this one.

Sorry that there isn't one of those silly Facebook

"Like" buttons for you to click.

5b0af852-2046-45d0-8489-227c966e5788.jpg

I tried clicking on the "Like" button but it didn't work...

Just my luck ... why does everything always happen to me?

Think of how I feel ... "0 people liked this."

I still claim that there should be a "Dislike" button.

So what's the chances that the SD Rowdies banner photo

will become a desktop image for somebody? I suppose I

could offer to do a tuneup on Jodi's computer so's I can

substitute her desktop image once again.

Good gosh, I spent two whole days working on her computer

just so I could swap her desktop image. It was worth it.

Besides, I kind of like the ol' broad; you know, more or

less.

John,

You and Sue are my two true fans ... an unexpected

"Like" at an unexpected time is the best sort of

"Like" there is.

Thanks pal,

Violation 20110827

San Diego County Unbunched Sock Police issue yet-another

citation. Is there no end to this problem?

The standards of society continue to crumble even as

Deputy BlondHiLites works tirelessly for the cause of

sartorial splendor.

In the words of Seargent Seymore Argyle "What makes a

grown man that isn't an IT-guy dress like a fourteen-

year-old?"

San Diego County – At a press conference today Sgt. Seymore Argyle

of the San Diego County Unbunched Sock Police (SDCUSP) announced

that the rate of unbunched-sock recidivism continues to creep up in

spite of determined efforts to cut the problem off at the knees. Sgt.

Argyle explained that “F’r some reason Ah don’t un’erstan’ th’ problem

is at it's worst in east county.”

Sgt. Argyle also explained that an increasingly large numbers of male

baby-boomers are going into retirement causing a runaway increase in

unbunched-sock violations. With retirement there is a movement from

long pants into shorts and that brings into public view a vast number

of once-closeted unbunched-sock wearers. As Sgt. Argyle put it “Worse

thang is that we’re now seeing a lot more unbunched black-nylon socks.”

Several new deputies have been added to the SDCUSP staff to handle

the increasing rate of sartorial disobedience in public places.

Citizens are encouraged to report violations.

For some reason, most people don't seem to like "yard caches". I think they can be pretty interesting, but this one was a DNF (that's me in the center.) Photo credit: SqrRigger.

James,

That's very impressive; however, isn't that sheet a bit untidy?

You know, right there in the center?

I'm not normally one to point fangers, but a response is required...

First off, Fanger A points to the "sheet". The sheet is nice and tidy. Shipshape and Bristol-fashion, as it were.

Second, the clew of the sail (indicated by Fanger B ) is attached to the sheet and clew blocks (the round blobs to the left of Fanger B ) so there is a limit to how tidy the sail can be furled in the best of circumstances. That little bit is always going to stick out like that.

Thirdly, you're right. That isn't very tidy. The part of the sail indicated by Fanger C is called a "deadman" because it looks as if someone furled up a body into the sail. We try to avoid that. In my defense, though, I didn't furl this sail when it was put away last. In this photo, we are unfurling the sail.

I was just testing you James ... yeah, that's it, I was just testing

you t' see if you knew where th' fangers should be placed. So now

you're sayin' that th' deadman wasn't your fault. A smart seamen

would know enough to keep away from the deadman.

At any rate it sure looks like you were having fun. Well done!

Nope. I tried to get on HMS Surprise but they needed hands to sail the Californian. So that's where I was...

My best shot of the Californian ...

Super-zooming into the full resolution shot I

believe I can see your hat near the bow end of

that midship inflatable. Why didn't you wave?

At least you had four Geocachers admiring you,

Baldy & Goldilocks and Sandy and I of SD Rowdies.

Otherwise we were with a boat-load of really fat

old people from Missouri.

Nice job sailor!

Ummmm...I believe that this is the Spirit of Dana Point.

Californian is square-rigged on the foremast and has three sails at the pointy end...

I'm pretty sure Sweet Ol' Harmon took the second picture too. Notice how the cannon is firing at him. I also heard that the gun on the Californian is the 'Does THIS make my butt look big' Battery. Wonder who the gun crew is...I heard it was some East County cachettes... :P

Lemme see ... I've been bested on Like-clicks, I posted the wrong

Evan's assessment

Grandchild Evan while looking at tall-ship photos last night

responded to the shot of Goldilocks's feet upon the rail of

the tour-boat by saying "Her feet don't look very clean."

Guess how thrilled Goldilocks was to receive a "Thought you'd

like to know" photo of Evan as he inspected her feet and her

blinged toes.

I suppose that's what is meant when it's said that women are

more sensitive than men.
