Joypa
AArgh! I'm sick of this word. I advocate creativity in the use of insulting language. You are encouraged to come up with your own new and fresh way of putting down other people's efforts. I know that if we try we can rid the world of the ugly scourge of the word (dare I utter it) "lame". Come on. Join me in this worthy cause. Quote Link to comment
The Leprechauns
What a lame thread. Quote Link to comment
Joypa
Not in the least bit original. Quote Link to comment
Joypa
Indeed I did. Come a little closer, little one. I need to check out that...that's it, just a little closer. You little.... Quote Link to comment
TeamK-9
I second the motion raised by joypa to remove the word "lame" from the geocaching vocabulary. I suggest "GIMP" as its new replacement. Quote Link to comment
BlueDeuce
Sorry, too many people already signed up for the 'Cachers against the term Muggle' club. Perhaps a union is necessary: UUE (ask me later) I don't want to cause angst so soon in this thread. Quote Link to comment

Joypa
Well, sure they can. I mean, that's the whole point, isn't it. If some one says something is lame, they can say it in any thread. My movement is meant to stamp it out. And, just for you, I will explain that I am being facetious. No one is going to listen to this old dodder. Quote Link to comment
bman92
So I can say "lame lame lame lame, etc, etc" as much as I want in your thread? Quote Link to comment

denali7
ooooo... "humpbacked" has a certain ring to it. in fact, just shorten it to humping, a la: "i hate those humpin' lamppost micro's!!" wow, sailormouth, i feel like spongebob trying out my first big-boy words!! Quote Link to comment
Joypa
How about "unconvincing". I found your cache to be unconvincing. I was not sure of your actual intent to place a cache in this location. Quote Link to comment

The Cheeseheads
Let me see. A new descriptive term to replace the old one? My brain hurts trying to think of one. Eh. I'm coming up empty. Quote Link to comment

Team Panda
YES! Finally! A kindred spirit willing to brave the slings and arrows of contentious cachers in his quest to eradicate the use of "lame" from our language! KUDOS to you good sir, kudos I say! In an effort to match the courage and conviction you have thus far displayed in this thread, I heartily embrace the most worthy concept that we found an organization with the sole aim of removing "lame" from our insulting and aggressive speech! LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I GIVE YOU... LINGUISTS AGAINST MEDIOCRE ENGLISH! Edited July 1, 2005 by Team Panda Quote Link to comment
Renegade Knight
Whatever. Yeah, I hate that worse than Lame. A well placed whatever is a lot more powerful. Quote Link to comment
sept1c_tank
Woebegone: 1. Affected with or marked by deep sorrow, grief, or wretchedness. 2. Of an inferior or deplorable condition: a rundown, woebegone old shack or geocache. Quote Link to comment
CoyoteRed
Eliminating the word itself is the easy way out. If you want to eliminate "lame" from the vernacular how about advocating folks putting a bit of thought into hiding the cache in the first place. Otherwise, lame is lame no matter what you call it. Of course, we could call it "trache" as someone suggested to me a while back. Quote Link to comment
tabulator32
Of course, we could call it "trache" as someone suggested to me a while back. Now, that's a good term. We should refer to lame caches as trache going forward. I second their notion. Quote Link to comment
Robespierre
I suggest "GIMP" as its new replacement. I was thinking adjectivally..... GIMPY... when I saw your post. How about just classing it up. We have a rather L*** store around Ohio called TARGET, and to make us all feel better we use TAR-GHEE'. Lame', anyone? Quote Link to comment
treasure_hunter
ANGST ALERT!!!!!!!!! Quote Link to comment
wimseyguy
All of these post are very inconsiderate of the feelings of the cachers and caches they have put out. The terms "lame, gimp, hunchback, humpy", and any other descriptive term used as a label is just plain wrong. From now on please use the terms "caches/cachers with a difference." After all they are caches and cachers foremost. Quote Link to comment
ohgrl
I still like the word gimp... "That cache is so gimp!" "That stupid gimpy TeamK-9 hid that gimp cache right next to my house, and he refuseds to submit it to the site!" Hey now as a temporary gimp I take offense to this one! Feeble or spavined is better! +Pyewacket
I second the motion raised by joypa to remove the word "lame" from the geocaching vocabulary. I suggest "GIMP" as its new replacement. Hey! Who are you calling a GIMP? Unless you're a card-carrying member of the Gimp Squad, you can't use the term "gimp". Quote Link to comment
edscott
I do like "humdrum", but a "Trache Cache" certainly conveys the idea in a much less lame way than a lame word like lame. Quote Link to comment
