+The Navigatorz Posted December 18, 2005 Author Posted December 18, 2005 (edited) Never mind that. That's back when I was just plain goofy. Now I'm all serious. By the way, I wrote a little poem: The Week Before Cachemas 'Twas the week before Cachemas, when all through the town Not a new geocache was hidden, not even a micro Now, Patudles! now, Robinego! now, g-people, Barnabirdy and ccmin! On, Gadget! on XY! on Jacknapp, Blue J, Ambrosia, and Navigatorz! To the top of the hill! And the valley below! Now hide a cache! Hide a cache! Hide a cache all!" And then, in a twinkling, I saw the Big Rig It was Big Bertha, coming round the bend As I drew in my hand, and was turning around, And I saw the Navigator, coming around. Mr. Gadget was carrying contraptions and birdhouses And his car was all stuffed, with gps’s, walking sticks, and things A bundle of gizmos he had flung on his back, And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack. Ambrosia’s eyes -- how they twinkled! her dimples how merry! Robinego’s cheeks were like roses, her nose like a cherry! XY’s droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow; Navigatorz had a broad face and a little round belly, That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly. He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf, And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself; A wink of Blue J's eye and a flash of his badge, Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread; They all spoke not a word, but went straight to work, And hid all the containers; then turned with a jerk, And laying their finger aside of their nose, And giving a nod, to the computer they drove; And the next morning, there were new caches galore, Merry Cachemas to all and to all a Good Find. +The Navigatorz Posted December 27, 2005 Author Posted December 27, 2005 We have new geocachers in our area...The Longshots. They are a family of four: husband, wife, and 2 kids (girl age 10 and boy age 11). She works at RI dam in the same office where I work. I gave her the geocaching video to take home to watch and they went out and bought a gps for Christmas. They seem excited to start finding caches. So if you see a log on one of your caches by The Longshots, please give them a warm Cachecadian welcome to the sport. Quote
+g-people Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 RE: Cachcadians next event~what do you all think about having a little workshop on using all of our technology? I know that I would really like to know more about going paperless, the different stuff on my gps etc. For crying out loud I can't even figure out how to get an avatar! I know that there are lots of very knowledgable cachers here and if there is interest maybe we could get some kind of organized info sharing. Just a thought~I may be the only one in need! Quote

Just a thought~I may be the only one in need! I have had the same idea my self and had mentioned it to othere also. I did not think about having as an event cache. This is a teriffic idea and others will agree. "GO g-girl" no no I mean g-people You are not alone for one needing help. Oh dam I have left my self wide open with this last comment. Just watch robinego hammer me on this. Quote
+The Navigatorz Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 I'm not an expert by any means, but would be gald to come and share what I have learned. I might even pick up some techniques too. Did you know that if you download cache waypoints from GSAK onto Street and Trips, you can push the CTRL on your keyboard and then right click your mouse on a cache data point on the map, and it will open the cache page on the internet? I just learned that little trick a couple of weeks ago from Barnabirdy. So see, you can teach an old dog new tricks. And yes Mr. Gadget, you do need help, but I'm not sure we can provide that kind of help. (Yes, you did leave yourself wide open on that one). Quote
