+The Navigatorz Posted October 1, 2005 Author Posted October 1, 2005 Today's flow in the Wenatchee River is 1040 cfs. (A week ago I saw it at 280 cfs). I believe the days of wading to Pinball are over for the year. Quote
+Ambrosia Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 I'm gonna shamelessly ask that if you guys like my WJTB submission for September, please vote for it! I think that most of you know how much I really, really, really need to have a GPS all to myself. Poor Patudles has been abused long enough! I'm not sure how long the voting period lasts, maybe until the 15th? Anyways, here's the link to the voting page: linky. Here is the picture: The jeep was dropped off in Appleyard (and then promptly taken to Idaho ), and the pic was taken in the Squilchuck Creek nearby. Thanks a bunch. Quote
+xy,xx,xy,xy,xy,xy Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Great picture! I cast my vote. Quote
+Ambrosia Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Thanks, everyone who voted! Now let's hope. Quote
+Ambrosia Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 It may be time to feed again Who are you? Quote
+Allanon Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 A Wraith for an avatar, huh...maybe I'll stay on this side of the hills for awhile... Quote
+Ish-n-Isha Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 The local feeding grounds have populated nicely during our long sleep. A year and a half ago a 100 unfound cache query would have required a 50 mile radius. Now we can see that many between wenatchee and quincy. Quote
+xy,xx,xy,xy,xy,xy Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Yeah. So much for the cacheless wasteland you used to have listed on your profile page. Welcome back! Quote
+Ish-n-Isha Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Yeah. So much for the cacheless wasteland you used to have listed on your profile page. Welcome back! The cacheless wasteland blooms, we feed, it becomes a cacheless wasteland again. Its a cycle kind of a thing. Now if we could just finish apple harvest this month...... Quote
+Mr. Gadget #2 Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 It may be time to feed again Maybe you should consider feeding with us on Sat. evening. It would be nice to meet you. I have heard a lot about you. It happen I know your father and just happen to talk to him th other day at Bassett's Repair. Now I think it is time I get to meet the offspring -G- Quote
+The Navigatorz Posted October 8, 2005 Author Posted October 8, 2005 Oh no! Occasionally we lose caches by geomuggles. Some areas have cache-pirates. Now our area is being invaded by cache-eaters? Quote

+Mr. Gadget #2 Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Congratulations to ROBINEGO who blasted right past her 700 cache find today. At this rate of 14 in a day you will be hitting the next milestone before snow flies. Quote
+Mr. Gadget #2 Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Hey Mr. Gadget, you need an Avatar. How about this one? Hey that is great and I may have to use it. but this computer dummy has no idea how to apply it. Quote
+Ish-n-Isha Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Now our area is being invaded by cache-eaters? Technically, re-invaded cache-eaters Quote
+Ish-n-Isha Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 (edited) We will be in Spokane all day tomorrow so probably not attending the Abbyfest. I have heard a lot about you. With some good mixed in I hope! With a town as small as ours we probably already have met and didnt know it! Edited October 8, 2005 by Ish-n-Isha Quote
+The Navigatorz Posted October 8, 2005 Author Posted October 8, 2005 Congratulations Robinego on 700 Quote
+Ish-n-Isha Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Just was looking over some old finds of ours and saw you guys waded out to Pinball. That one was pretty fun. I was the first to wade that one. I was saving it for our 400th. It was January 25! Had to search through snow to find it! Quote

I was the first to wade that one. I was saving it for our 400th. It was January 25! Had to search through snow to find it! Just curious if you crossed the river from the highway side (south bank of the river) or the north side. We crossed from the south bank when the flow was around 460 cfs. Land Rover crossed a few weeks earlier at 540 cfs and described it as being a little more than he bargained for, but he made it across and back. We saw where if someone came down the hill from the north side, the flow on that side was a whole lot less. I looked in the USGS history records, and on the day you crossed, the flow was about 725 cfs. If you crossed from the south side, in January, when the water was ice cold, moving at 725 cfs, then you're braver, or crazier, than the rest of us. Quote
+Ish-n-Isha Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 North side, down the bank by the flume thing. I didnt know what rate it was but I have spent alot of time wading in rivers fishing and have all the appropriate hardware including 5mm chest waders. Quote
+The Navigatorz Posted October 8, 2005 Author Posted October 8, 2005 (edited) Even so, you crossed on the north side of the island which may have had less flow, but you came down and hiked back up that steep hill, with snow on the ground, that we didn't have to contend with. You're the only one who has done that so far and that's worth applauding. Good job. Edited October 8, 2005 by The Navigatorz Quote
+The Navigatorz Posted October 8, 2005 Author Posted October 8, 2005 What? There's an event tonight? Quote
+xy,xx,xy,xy,xy,xy Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 I was going to crash Ambrosia's zip line this afternoon on our way down the hill with Matt, Mike, and Sam, but I didn't see any cars in the driveway. Quote

Apropos if I do say so myself. Note the name of the Jeep...it's Kismet! Thanks, Robin Bling for Boobs Quote

Not enough Dr. Pepper? NEED DR PEPPER No. I've just been assimilated into Cheers, and become one of the worst of them. It's my latent ADDHD coming out. I hate change, except in my background screen, screensaver, and avatar. I keep it all in my computer. Quote
