+ArchaeologyMan
I recently bought a new vehicle (Trailblazer LT 4wd love it :-) and took my dash mount out of the old vehicle and tried to mount it in the new... No luck, I used new velcro but it just won't stay put on the dash. I would like some ideas on what materials other people are using, short of destructive methods leaving permanent damage.. thanks in advance, Mark Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
I have a Vista and it lays on a rubber "sticky pad" on the dash. It stays there pretty well. Another archaeologist? What's with the sudden influx of geocachers who are archaeologists! Edited March 19, 2004 by briansnat Quote Link to comment

+Sparky-Watts
Are ya sure ya used the right half of the velcro? I mean, did you get the hooks on one side and the loops on the other? I did that once or twice.....now I use the windshield suction mount, so it's not an issue anymore..... Quote Link to comment

+mtn-man
There is a Forum Etiquette For Dummies book. It is the Forum Guidelines. Please play nice in the sandbox. Quote Link to comment
WH
I wedge mine between the dashboard and the windshield in the upright position. Works good, its free and no damage. Quote Link to comment
Captain Chaoss
Hey Archeology Man. I still need to get back out there and find your Culture Cache . We searched last year, but in waning daylight. Great location. Out of curiousity, what type of GPS and mount are you using ? My Magellan has a suction cup deal that can be moved easily from vehicle to vehicle. Or, are you looking for a home-made design ? Quote Link to comment
+Scoobie10
I just love this little thing. It works great, moves from car to car and can be adjusted on about a zillion positions. No velcro or sticky marks. I would suggest this idea before anything else. Portable mount Quote Link to comment

+Volwrath
Was the velcro you bought industrial strength? Also make sure you let it sit a few days to 'cure' Velcro works great in my car Quote Link to comment

+Bloencustoms
Iv'e seen universal cell phone mounts that might work, but because my Vista has buttons on the sides, it's not the right choice for me. I use a universal radar detector mount. Quote Link to comment
+The SuzyQs
I use a suction cup windshield mount from GPSGeek Quote Link to comment
