+Family O Foxes Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 Oh, SOOOOOO looking forward to this!!! Let me know where you are staying so I can get it on the map!! Quote
+Sparky642 & MiraRen Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 Well, put us down for site A40!.. We missed out on Champoeg last year, a mistake not to me made again! hehe looking forward to meeting everyone. **If you.re not standing on the edge, you.re taking up too much room.** Quote
Team Misguided Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 How soon can we make reservations? ___________________________________________________________ Don't mind us, we're just looking for tupperware in this bush. Quote
+bazzle Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 Bazzle and Wannatagalong are in A45. Better hurry folks, only 8 A loop sites left as of right now... hh: ********************************************* * Remember... +Family O Foxes Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 Wow, the map already has more cachers on it than last year. It is up to date as of 21:00 15sep03 Fathergoose, Andrewfox is looking forward to seeing you again. -Jay Quote
+kiwimonster Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 We're in A47. Posted it first on the forums on pdxgeocaching.com. Didn't see any others on those forums that weren't reported here. Quote
+Wander Lost Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 Okay put Team Misguided down for site A41. We'll be there Friday, Saturday & Sunday. I hope you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you've heard is not what I meant. --Richard Nixon Quote
+pdxmarathonman Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 I hope Fathergoose will let us pitch our tent next to his camp-trailer. Quote

+Family O Foxes Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 Updated - 5 sites left as 22:35 15sep03 That's "A" loop....plenty of sites left in other areas of the park, even cabins. Quote
+dasein Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 Doug and I just reserved space A29 for Friday and Saturday. We've not planned even our most extravagant vacation this far in advance! What else can it mean--fractal and Soup rock! Quote
+oregone Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 Who's organizing it this year? I know that Maps-r-us don't/doesn't have to do it, and i know that fractal and soup are exempt, so who does that leave? Is it too late to claim 'not-it?' Because if it isn't, and i have to do it, then you better have the underlings in bed by 10pm. You know, because i like strippers. A lot. Anyway, we really have it scheduled for 'state parks day' this time, so that means that camping is free (barring yurts and cabins). Since it is said holiday, maybe we should consider reserving that picnic site that we've been lucky enough to get the last two years running. I wonder what yurtville will be like this time... Considering the exponential extravegance through the last two years, i'll be surprised if no one dies next june. all rights reserved, all wrongs reversed Quote

+WestyCrew Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 Put us in for A18. Were from Nevada so maybe we could help Oregone out with some of his ideas. Westycrew SEEKER Quote
+Family O Foxes Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 The map is up to date. Sites still available: On the upper half of "A" loop A1, A3, A27 On the lower half of "A" loop Wide open (except A18) Quote
+Wander Lost Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 We'll have space for a tent if anyone needs a space in the upper loop. Just let us know so we can add to the number of people on our reservation. I hope you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you've heard is not what I meant. --Richard Nixon Quote
+jammfamm Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 We just reserved space A27. Hopefully, my girls (age 4 and 2) will do the camping thing ok. Last time we tried before the youngest was born, my husband spent the night in the truck with a crying two year old. I swore we wouldn't camp again til they were 20. Quote
+Family O Foxes Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 Updated! Your girls will be in good company, there will be several young kids there. We have 3: Samantha 7 Andrew 5 (aka Andrewfox) Maddie 4 -Jay Quote
+Lil Devil Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 I've been wanting to visit family and friends up there for a while, and this sounds like as good a time as any. I've got space A8 and I look forward to meeting all of you. Lil Devil Quote
+fractal Posted September 16, 2003 Author Posted September 16, 2003 Wow! Washington, Oregon, and now California... It's a west coast geo-gathering! I suppose we can try and take over the rest of the park too... Where are those Idaho cachers? And I am also on the 'not-it' list But.. I do think we should have some sort of a schedule (and actually try to stick to it this time). As usual, we can start with ivy pulling: 10am - Noon * Ivy pullingNext we can have a big pot-luck lunch: Noon - 1:30pm * FOODFrom 1:30 - whenever, we can have a few events, one of which I hope will be a fractalSoup event. We've learned from last year, and will try to keep the event to about 1 hour. The kids scavanger hunt was cool (and enjoyed by many), but since the schedule was messed up, it sort of got squeezed in. Let's make sure it happens on time this year. In the evening, I know Soup will unleash the latest installment of THE APPARATUS. That will probably be around 8-ish. Thoughts, ideas? Should we elect a timekeeper? (Not it!) -fractal Quote
+KAYAK PHOTOG Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 Sorry bur i am brand new to this geocaching. Could you explain this event me. Wher it is when etc. Tent camping available? soundsvery interesting. thank you KAYAK PHOTOG Olympia, Wa Quote

soup Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 We OWN Champoeg!!11! I am thinking, with the high percentage geocachers, that something even more extraordinary can occure next event. >insert maniacal laugh< Anyway, its not too bad scheduling the event, as I still have most of the numbers needed to call. I was just a little overwhelmed with the Redux, The Apparatus, and Broken Arrow. Next year: a fractalSoup event, and part 3 of the Apparatus event should keep me very busy. Who ever wants to organize next year, just give me an email. Its really easy (the email, not the organization) heh. Quote
+Family O Foxes Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 Updated!! Let's not forget about NEVADA. Quite the representation we've got going here. Quote

Sassquatch Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 I third it After looking at the map, maybe we have enough people to run through the campground like an angry mob, wielding torches and pitchforks. Of course oregone's idea is good too. Almost was there last time. Note to self, bring more tequila. That doesn't smell like mud Chucko [This message was edited by Sassquatch on September 16, 2003 at 10:10 PM.] Quote

How else are your children going to learn that hairspray is flammable? Or that things you find on the ground should immediately be put in your mouth? And seriously, where would your children be today if i wasn't there teaching them how to spot fake boobs? Anyway, the only thing you need to do to 'plan' champoeg is call ranger mike and tell him we're pulling ivy, right? +fractal Posted September 16, 2003 Author Posted September 16, 2003 Ok.. So we have a pot-luck lunch on Saturday.. That's good. How about a pot-luck style hangover brunch on Sunday? Of course... I'm really hungry for eggs right now, so that might be influencing my suggestion. mmmm.. and bloody marys... and mimosas... Or maybe some sort of a cook-off competition... Iron Chef style? Off to the kitchen for a late night snack! -fractal Quote

I hope the theme ingredient is salmon, because i think i need a quick trip to the kitchen as well. or sausage. i like sausage. all rights reserved, all wrongs reversed Quote
+MattandLaura Posted September 16, 2003 Posted September 16, 2003 we'll make it this year....guess I better hurry and reserve a spot. BTW there will be a 5, 1 and 13 year with us. How about bacon? Mmm, bacon. Bacon makes everything better! Then add some cheese. Fractal and others in need of a late-night egg fix, for a quick mess of scrambled eggs, I always have a carton of 'Egg Beaters' in the fridge. (I prefer southwest 'flavor'; they also have 'garden vegetable' now.) No breaking eggs--just pour, scramble and enjoy. That is if you like the taste of 'fake eggs.' My favorite is to add petite green peas, diced tomato, shredded cheddar cheese and some Tabasco. Dang, that's sounding good! Now back to the real topic: Champoeg 2004... --laurak Quote

She could give us all swimming lessons I think I read somewhere that she is pretty good at it. We second Oregone's nomination for Kim to be in charge. I think fractal knows how to find her. I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here. Quote
+Quantum Mechanic Posted September 17, 2003 Posted September 17, 2003 I'll start saving now so I can provide some liquid refreshment this time. Sassquatch has expensive taste.
