+SD Rowdies
I see that three more of my Geocaching photos have shown up on the Google Earth Panoramio overlay. They overlay the Sycamore Canyon cache-war battle- ground ... (1) the mean and rocky uphill, (2) Reba's Wreck, and (3) the cattle-pond west of Santee Lakes RV park. So far six out of seven photos I've submitted have been posted. Oddly enough I have received email praise for a couple of the photos, from far-away places ... Bulgaria, France, and China. In each case it was color and sharpness that brought their praise. Kind of funny to me, all around the world people are using each and every brand and model of available digital cameras with the same result ... filmy lack- luster color and poor sharpness. All hail to Photoshop. There's some great new features in the Photoshop CS5 Beta version. For one thing they have figured out how to use their content-aware transformation feature in reverse. Aren't you excited about that? Panoramio runs a monthly best-photo contest based on viewer voting tallies. Nice to have a few votes but shots of a rocky hill in Sycamore Canyon or of a Santee cattle-pond have little hope of beating out tourist shots of the seven wonders of the World. Of course you must have the Panoramio check-box checked to see the blue-square links on Google Earth. On the other hand ... who cares? Edited March 3, 2010 by SD Rowdies Quote Link to comment

Honkity, Honk, Honk........This was close to a cache that we walked by twice and I had it in the gps! We're getting worse at this instead of better.............. Splashette Honk Honk...did you check to see if the tadpoles have legs yet? yeah...Janie walked past Handsome Jimmy Johnson...I think Steve just didn't want her drooling over the tin.... One thang f'r shore, any Lakeside Geocacher is bound to grab that container and never let go. I don't know why they admire NASCAR drivers ... now that all of them drive the very same car. All the NASCAR races look like train-night at the old El Cajon Speedway. The races are now won by the pit crews so there's your actual NASCAR stars. Pathetic I say. As for the tadpoles, no legs yet and they sure need to hurry 'cause thangs are gettin' critical in that puddle of mud. Water temperature is rising and so the water is evaporating. There's nothing for them to eat but silt and brothers and sisters. Next Geocacher that goes up there should bring a 55-gallon drum of water for them poor little creatures. On the other hand maybe just round them up in a bucket and bring them back down to that little gurgling brook. Maybe we could find somebody that always drives to hides in a hand-washed, hardtop Jeep to transport a water drum up the hill for the tadpoles. Sorry to hear the the splashes are slipping ... and wondering what's distracting them so? Hmm, how old do you suppose they are now ... onset of oldtimers disease by any chance? No wait, I'll just bet that Janie has replaced their pillows in spite of my sage advice. How come nobody listens to me? On another front, have y'all noticed how Flagman has given up hiking in favor of riding around in his hand-washed, hardtop Jeep? Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw log-entry photos of his Jeep out on this little stroll. I swear, what's our local Geocaching community coming to? Sweet ol' Harmon Rescue mission anybody? Poor little critters are packing themselves into the deepest spots as you can see. I emptied my water bottle for them but that was just a futile gesture. Look really close and you can see their little pleading eyes. Jodi, soon you'll have to change the title on that hide. The end is near. That makes me very sad... Nancy, For gosh sakes, don't be sad. It's a call for action. Go Green! ... save Jodi's pollywogs. Harmon Looks like they do have legs. They won't need that puddle much longer.
