+SD Rowdies
For me Monday, April 12th is going to be a great day. No need to ask why, I'll just tell y' ... that's the day that the code-named "White Rabbit" developmental version of Photoshop will be released as Photoshop CS5. I've saved enough FTF dollar-bills to purchase my own CS5 update package. Excited already about the new features that have been previewed in seminars ... "content-aware fill" and "puppet warp" to mention two features that will find a place right here on this Forum thread. Truth is I've waited years for just the right tool to accomplish a wanted change in my favorite image, you know, the one I lovingly refer to as DTCMMBLB. Monday Monday, so good to me .... I was seven years old when I mastered the art of rubbing my tummy while patting my head. Or was it the other way around? I'm not sure. So much for the multi-talented part. As to playing well with others, there's two things an old-timey Texan needs for happiness ... (1) to be noticed and (2) a chance to be a kid again. Aw, shucks ... thank y' ver' much. Can't resist textures one can see near Iron Mountain. Easy to see why that peak is named after Iron. The background I used for the shot of Irene is derived from sand washed down the dirt road near that pond where middle trail heads up the hill. Lovely patterns. I would highly encourage anyone else traveling to the area to check it out also. It is one of the coolest places I have ever seen. There are two separate canyons, Lower Antelope Canyon and Upper Antelope Canyon. Make sure you check them both out. Lower Antelope Canyon Mrs. Rocket Man Entering the Canyon Hi folks We want to thank you for all the fine pictures in this thread. We saw the pictures from Antelope Canyon in this thread approx. 2 years ago and after 2 seconds we said to each other: "we must see that place". We're both ca. 50 years old, very much into geocaching and just love to hike in forests, deserts etc. Thanks a lot for the pictures of Antelope Canyon, which was the reason we've just spent 14 days in your beautiful country. We arrived in L.A., drove to Grand Canyon, Page (Antelope), Zion NP, Las Vegas, Death Valley, Seqiuoa NP, Muir Woods (S.F.), Highway 1, Joshua Tree NP. All that just because we saw the pictures from Antelope Canyon in this thread. And we had a trip, and experienced nature, that we will never forget. Thank you! We're not used to communicate in English, but hope you understand ;-) Forgot to mention that while we were in Page we found "Horseshoe Bend Overlook"/GCC345 - that's a must if you're there. +SD Rowdies
Now and then things work out right. A prized possession is my little Canon PowerShot A1100 IS camera. While hiking that little camera is always hanging from my belt, as it was during my quest for my Iron Mountain HoF hikes. After the final hike I was saddened to note that the plastic cover that protects the LCD display was cracked. A chance encounter with a boulder I'm quite sure. A quick check online netted a phone number for the Canon Parts Department. Dialed the number and without being put on hold a voice asked "How may I help you?" End of story is that a new protective cover and a spare cover arrived today by mail. Pulled off the cracked cover, stuck on the new cover and now my camera is like new again. I feel good! +SD Rowdies
This just in ... A weird thang happened to me during one of my Iron Mountain HoF hikes. While I was behind a bush doin' my bidness I heard somebody clopping along the nearby trail. I peered through the bush and was shocked to see an ever-so famous female Geocacher crawling up onto a big, round, trail- side boulder. Darned if she didn't begin to dance atop the boulder, you know, doing some sort of weird, snake-like movements and all the while moaning and groaning with eyes closed and lips quivering as though enslaved by a rapturous incantation of the third kind. Well, believe you me, I zipped up and crawled down through the bushes lickety-split to intersect the trail and, once on the trail, hot-footed it for the parking lot. My gosh, if that ol' snake-charmer had spotted me no telling what would have happened. Now that I think about it ... maybe I should have stood my ground. It ain't often you'll see a Geocacher behaving like that. Luckily I got one shot of th' ol' gal whilst she was doin' her thang up on that boulder. Thought I should post th' photo here as a public service so's the rest of you can be on th' lookout for that wriggling momma. Y're welcome, Harmon SD Rowdies Note to Self: Hmm, Puppet-warp with Photoshop CS5 may turn out to be great fun. Edited May 4, 2010 by SD Rowdies Quote Link to comment
