+HugoBear
After looking at the What City has the Biggest thread, I got to thinking... (DANGER WILL ROBINSON, DANGER!) j/k Where is the lowest / highest elevation cache? Where is the farthest north / south / east / west cache? Where is the largest cache container? (let's say total volume) In other words, what are the limits we have reached so far? We can differentiate between lower 48 states, world, however it works best. I'm primarily interested in lower 48 right now as they're the ones I'm most likely to get to in this lifetime... Post your guesses and I'll try to do the legwork comparing coordinates. +HugoBear
Searching the forums, I think the highest (lwr 48) cache is the Mt Whitney GC75C3 (14,497'). Edited September 7, 2005 by HugoBear Quote Link to comment

There is an area in Minnesota that would be north of the 49th parallel, tho there aren't any caches there....yet. Quote Link to comment

There is an area in Minnesota that would be north of the 49th parallel, tho there aren't any caches there....yet. I think that depends on how you define the border. All along the 49th parallel, there are a series of border monuments defining the physical border between the U.S. and Canada. If you were to draw a line between the monuments, you would actually come up with a zigzag line that crosses 49N many, many times. Quote Link to comment
+clan_Barron
This cache would be the easternmost cache. It is not far from the mounument for the easternmost point of land in the US. Cool, that means that we have found the Southernmost and Easternmost caches in the US! Now on to the Northern and Western Quote Link to comment
+BigFurryMonster
Northernmost cache: As North As It Gets! - N 82° 30.720 Southernmost cache: No Further South From Here - S S 90° 00.000 or if you don't count the virtual: Chilly Willy at Byrd Surface Camp - S 80° 00.880 There is, of course no 'Westernmost' or 'Easternmost' cache, since the coordinate system goes all the way around the earth.
