Yorkypudding
Hi, Just letting everyone know that I have managed to book myself a campsite. I have gone for Hardwick Park, I can now join the Ollies which will be fun. I would to say a big thank you to all who emailed me with advise of a campsite it really helped me out. I cant wait now, I can try my new tent out so I hope it will be ok otherwise I might have to ask Ollies to shove up in their beds Now what I need is a list of the best caches in that area. I would like shortish ones has I only have a couple of days and want to do as many as I can. I am not sure about the Punters ones they sound like fun but I have a fear of being on a boat Look forwards to meeting new peeps. Yorkypudding. Sparticus
Most of the caches in Oxford city centre are pretty short. Quote Link to comment

The spot you have chosen to camp is unfortunately pretty barren (relatively speaking for this area). Your nearest one (4 miles), West Witney Cache is worth a visit and pretty easy with a shortish walk and Two Trees at North Leigh is easy enough and not too far from the campsite. If you want lots of simple/ish caches oxford city is hard to beat. Looking forward to seeing you Sunday, or who knows perhaps a bit sooner. Quote Link to comment
Alibags
The Punters caches are fabulous unmissable fun. Take the Ollies with you and you can get Ollie Dad to do all the acrobatic climbing about whilst you sit demurely in the boat with the GPS shouting encouragement! Quote Link to comment
third-degree-witch
I can certainly agree with Alibags...The Punters series of caches are well worth the dollar !!!!. We all had the greatest of fun, Alibags, JollyJax ,and myself. 3 choices of warship available...Punt, pedallo, rowing boat , we went for the sleek pedallo . Do it ! you will have a hoot. +The Ollies
I'm Sure Ollie Dad would be more than happy to shove up, to allow Yorkie Pudding in our tent, but as we are taking our small tent we are already packed in like sardines! Any way Yorkiepudding I can guarentee you would soon put your tent up in double quick time once you hear his snoring Joking aside we are quite happy to assist you with your tent should you need it. Onto the nearby cache topic, we realised this campsite is further away than we would have liked , but everywhere nearer was fully booked! We did consider the Offer from the Phillimores of thier back garden but somehow we thought they might not appreciate us knocking thier door at 2 am to use thier toilet!!!!!!!! Still praying the weather forcast will be good........... Quote Link to comment
2202
If you have a go at the Punters cache then I would recommend the pegalo approach. You will get around the course much faster and even attempt UC4 which is also a little further downstream and gettable from the river. If you wish to complete the set then plan to do Treacle Well, Somewhere under the Rainbow, Trout Trek and Godstow Abbey Quote Link to comment
Alibags
I thought you had archived Treacle Well 2202? Oh dear, other half has just told me he has been invited to go clay pigeon shooting on Sunday... whatever shall I do to keep myself out of mischief on Sunday afternoon.... Quote Link to comment

Mad H@ter
Only 2 days to go, and It's all starting to get a bit exciting, with the weather still looking quite promising (thanks bobuk), not as hot as it has been (thank god ) but dry with some sun and only light winds; perfect caching weather. The cache is filling up nicely with lots of bugs. And we have another new cache in the Wheatley area (making a total of 5) thanks to JollyJax. Quote Link to comment
Yorkypudding
Hi Thanks everyone for helping me with the camping and the with what caches to do. I hate boats big or small but my friend Meandering insists we do the punters cachers , so I will have to see how I feel. lol I always get bullied into doing stuff that scares me. But Ive done many strange things with this Geocaching lark allready, especially Bugs I can now turn stones over and just knock them off with my hands something I could never do before Geocaching. So it helps us face our fears lol. There could be a snoring competition at the hardwick Park campsite lol. Lets just hope for decent weather I like the sun but not too hot dont mind a bit of rain but when Im sat in my tent , that hopeing theres no leaks. Today I am cleaning my car sortng out the tyres oil and water. Organising my camping stuff and generally getting ready not long to go so see you all there. Yorkypudding. Quote Link to comment

The Ollies
We would love to team up with you YorkiePudding and hit the Punters caches together! We are planning on doing these on Saturday and hopefully hitting our 600th with the final one. Let us know when you are arriving and we could all head off together if you like Quote Link to comment
Alibags
Yeah, go on Ollies and Yorkiepudding - go for it!!! I was slightly reluctant to do the caches mainly because you have to pay to rent a boat and and I am naturally mean... but we had some time left on the parking meter and I thought well, 3 caches in 1 hour isn't too bad, and besides I can do it sitting down!! Well, we had a great time. We giggled like the big kids that we are throughout the entire trip and the presence of punt loads of drunken students greatly enhanced the entire thing. This series now features in my top 5 caches. Well done Dan and SP. We wanted to pay again and do them all again right away! Quote Link to comment
Sensei TSKC
REQUEST: I will be attending the cache on Sunday with my wife, Sue and daughter, Grace. However, as Monday is a schoolday and Grace is not 9 yet, they will be leaving early. Only having Alibags contact number I asked if she would be in a position to carry me home, I mean give me a lift, later in the day. Unfortunately, Alibags has a life and will be 'going on' so I am seeing if there is a possibility if a kindly cacher, who is going my way - Wendover - would let me occupy a small space in their vehicle on the way home? Thanking someone in anticipation - and a free karate lesson to boot. (No pun intended) Quote Link to comment
