Deego
I have one travel bug tag left. Can I make me a travel bug? would anybody want to log me? (I doubt it ) And how would it work. if somebody meets me and gets the bug number would they just grab it from me, then I would have to grab it back again. (messy logs !! and not much mileage). maybe not such a good idea after all I bet its been done before. but cant find any. Quote Link to comment
Leoness
I read somwhere in the forums that someone had created a TB which never left their possession but which they logged into and out of every cache they found (which is effectively the same thing as making YOURSELF a TB!). By doing this, they had a complete log (on the TB page) of every cache they'd visited. Quote Link to comment
+Chris n Maria
Nothing wrong in that - we have a travel bug who rarely leaves our side (unless there are rabbits about). CnM Quote Link to comment
+rutson
Cabe Troll and Joan have a Geocoin they use that way, there is a Human TB somewhere, I've seen it on the forums somewhere. Quote Link to comment
Beer Monster
If I remeber rightly, Stu and Sarah have their Mini as a TB, able to be grabbed temporarily by any cacher they meet on their travels. You could do the same - any time you meet a fellow cacher, give them the number and drop it into the cache as you make your log. Once they're retrieved it you simply grab it back. You'd have to fix the tag to yourself pretty securely so it doesn't come off in the shower! Quote Link to comment

+1100f
You may need a food blender to get yourself in a 2L cache box!!!!! Quote Link to comment
+Team Maddie UK
I have also seen in the forums about a cacher who has the TB number tatooed on his arm so that anyone he meets can log him. Doesn't necessarily have to be at a cache but is popular at cache meets. The logger can log it in and out again so that you do not have to. Sounds like a good idea. Lynn Quote Link to comment
+mongoose39uk
Sounds a good idea to me. Have heard of a few cars being tb's and have a vague idea that one or two people are tb's. Will the TB be ready for the morning though. Tony Quote Link to comment

+Pharisee
How many walk-in caches are there? Actually......the existence of one WOULDN'T surprise me. I think the 16th Century Pub mention in another thread qualifies quite nicely as a 'walk-in cache' Quote Link to comment
+Firth of Forth
Can I make me a travel bug? would anybody want to log me? (I doubt it ) After a few drinks one night with an old university chum visiting from Australia (I converted him to geocaching by email), we got carried away with the notion of me turning myself into a roving cache, a bit like the moving 'Ye Olde Survey Monuments cache' as a way to attract and meet single men. In the cold light of day, it didn't seem like such a good idea! Quote Link to comment
+aRRKS
Can I make me a travel bug? Just seen this on the Event page - still laughing, great idea, see you tomorrow Quote Link to comment

+klaus23
I made my car a TB and began to log all the caches I'd driven to. After about 40 caches I had about 6,000 miles up and I haven't logged every cache yet Quote Link to comment
+DomHeknows
but what happens if we log you and don't want to give you back?......or is that likely? Quote Link to comment
+Team Maddie UK
Deego, It was very nice to meet you today and a great pleassure to log you as a found TB. I did however return you to the great TB cyberspace. May you never go missing for it would be a great loss to us all. Lynn Quote Link to comment

You're correct Beer Monster. It's had a few "finds" so far, with one person who lives locally keeping a lookout for our car wherever he goes as he hasn't found out the travel bug number yet. It's in a extra tax disc holder on the front windscreen just above the tax disc. here it is Edited October 18, 2004 by stu_and_sarah Quote Link to comment
+Fangsy
*strum guitar* ahem! ~They seek him here. They seek him there! His tubs are round, and sometimes square! Oh you can log or track him, but he doesn't give a care. Because he's a dedicated follower of caching!~ *bows and exits stage left followed by much cabbage* Quote Link to comment
