Team DEMP
Brian and SkiGirl43 contributed an article to this month's Today's Cacher, a monthly eZine on geocaching. The article is at Hudson Highlands Jaunt. It's a terrific article recapping the day and includes 2 excellent pictures. Now if it's in the Event section of the eZine, you think that would help make it qualify as an event on geocaching.com Quote Link to comment
JMBella
Excellent job Brian. That brought me right back to that great day at the Hudson Highlands. Quote Link to comment

briansnat
Glad you enjoyed the article. Pyewacket aproached me a few weeks ago and asked that I write one, so you can thank her for the idea. Here are some pix for those of you too lazy to look at the cache pages. Climbing up to The Funnel (its steeper than it looks) Jr's Point (our first cache) Gates of The Hudson (the photo doesn't do the view justice) Mt Taurus (had a nice, leisurely lunch here) Cornish House Mystery (Skigirl43's only actual find) Old Cornish Farm (This place was really interesting) Bull Hill Junction (We were finally going downhill for this one) Wings and Beer (but not on draught ) Edited May 14, 2004 by briansnat Quote Link to comment

Ttepee
I would like to make a motion that any gathering that includes Planet's Famous Wraps and cachers should automatically fall within the guidlines of an "Event" cache! Edited May 16, 2004 by Ttepee Quote Link to comment

jonboy
Good Article Brian! I suspect that a Hudson Highlands Jaunt sequel will not catch the ad-hoc spontaneity of the initial event. What I liked was that it was not so much a dog and pony show, centered around the parking lot and platters of food, but a challenging hike. I think what drew so many people was the surprising fact that most of them had not been in the area, and thus were able to add many caches to their lists. I was impressed by the fact that no one turned back, every one completed the basic itinerary. The fact that I was able to lure others to follow me on “shortcuts” of dubious wisdom was a bonus. By the way, Kber was left off the list of those who went off for more caches Quote Link to comment
Squealy
Nice job, Brian! We may lose the spontanaity of the HHJ II but it will definitely be another great day of caching - I am looking forward to it. Hope to see you all soon. Quote Link to comment
Skully & Mulder et al.
Great job Brian! The girls really enjoyed seeing themselves in the picture and in print. All of us can't wait for HHJ2. Quote Link to comment
Pyewacket
I'd like to thank Briansnat for not only stepping up to the bat when I asked if he'd write about this "non-event event", but for hitting the ball out of the park. He did an EXCELLENT job of writing, and like many of you, I felt as if I were there, too. It was added to the events section, though not officially "sanctioned" as such, but it certainly seemed like an event to me! I'd also like to commend every participant on your success; I know this was a trek that might have left many cachers in the parking area, intimidated by the degrees of difficulty of many of the caches. Mondo job, everyone! Thanks again, Brian, for writing such a wonderful article! (Edited for a typo and a redundancy...darn it! ) Edited May 20, 2004 by Pyewacket Quote Link to comment
