golfchick
Kidderminster ish, dont mind travelling a little bit but not for hours on end! Quote Link to comment
Delta68
There's nothing like a nice big Multi for a milestone! This should fit the bill: Kelly's Birthday Cache and then Pretty in Pink Quote Link to comment
Amberel
Kidderminster ish, dont mind travelling a little bit but not for hours on end! Not an area I know well, but we did a nice circuit round Dodford recently, with one you might consider to be a 1000 cache candidate. Might be a bit far for you, but if you don't mind travelling to (just east of) Bath the Below Above series is very good. Rgds, Andy Quote Link to comment
The Bongtwashes
There's several around that area, or in the general WM area. You could always try for the final of Alchemy Quest, but that requires you to find several others first, or else there's Cut Down Cache. Both these are 5/5 caches. Although I haven't found them myself I have had them recommended. You may get a better selection if you post on the WM Regional Caching Forum for any recommendations from local cachers. +Malpas Wanderer
I don't often do circuits but if you are in that area and have not done; Abberley Advent[ure] Then you must (check for other caches you will pass on the route). Allow a whole day to do this circuit. Hope you are not too close to the milestone as there are a few numbers to amass. Quote Link to comment
Delta68
Abberley Advent[ure] Good choice but she's already done it But that reminds me, Blenheim and Beyo....nd is another nice big Multi Quote Link to comment
Delta68
This one is good fun as well Severn Virtual Reward (Worcestershire). A Virtual but it's a sort of Multi Mark Quote Link to comment
golfchick
The below and above set sound really good fun but ill have to ask my fellow 1000 cacher we're hoping to do together as his movements are more limited than me and he may think its beyond his ability, maybe ill message the CO and see which of the set he thinks we'll be able to manage. I've saved cut down cache and alchemy, fellow cacher has already done cut down cache and to collect 14 other caches I'm not sure if he'd struggle... I'm not even sure he'll be able to mount up that number of caches in the meantime especially considering how fast I mount them up! I think I'll do severn virtual myself soon before the 1000 just for a nice day out now the kids are back at school! thanks for the recommendations, keep em coming! Quote Link to comment
Geogamy & Sheldor
Not so much a cache as a general idea- we've decided for our 1000th to go back to the place we did our first cache... but in our case it helps that the first cache was on an island, and we only managed to find one (aaah, what newbies we were), so there are lots of options to choose from now! Congrats on the milestone Geogamy Quote Link to comment
golfchick
yeah that would be a good idea if my first was anywhere interesting and the fact im sharing the milestone it wouldnt really work out, cheers though! Quote Link to comment
Team Noodles
This one should do nicely and if you want, you can do this one with it. Quote Link to comment
golfchick
cheers ill add em to the list! Quote Link to comment
stanolli
I am even closer to 1000 (although I think you will still get there first) so I will follow this thread with interest. I have just done Shropshire View that is an old one and I would recommend that if you haven't already done it. The Above Below series was the most fun I have had caching, but it's best with a small group and is not for everyone. We did them in the recommended order and now the first one seems quite tame, but starting at the hardest would have been disastrous. At the moment I am planning http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=87acf37f-7a4a-45a1-adb1-350c3023b952 which is north of me, but south of you so you never know we might end up searching the same day :-) Quote Link to comment
Delta68
I have just done Shropshire View that is an old one and I would recommend that if you haven't already done it. I was going to suggest that one - together with History Cache 002 GCH5G7 ... but I got bored of the thread A great pair of caches and bloomin' tough by bike! Mark Quote Link to comment
MartyBartfast
Not a particular recommendation but I chose an event for my 1000, it was one of a regular monthly series that I particularly enjoy so when I was getting close I engineered it so that I hit 1000 at the event. +Pharisee
I drove from home in Bedfordshire to South Wales in the early hours of the morning to do my 1000th... Tommy Jones GCGJHW A splendid 8 mile hike up Pen-y-Fan. I was on the summit before 07:00 and had the place to myself. Brilliant !!! Quote Link to comment
The Blorenges
Not as strenuous as Pharisee's suggestion but still an excellent spot (near Abergavenny) and a really old cache... The First in Wales. MrsB Quote Link to comment
sniffadogz
Hippos Below is great fun, and there is an excellent cafe in Newent to celebrate afterwards. Quote Link to comment
PeakFault
I know this is perhaps a bit too far out of the way but I'd recommend Smuggler Quest 6 - Ravenscar to anyone. Bear in my that your 999th would have to be The Ravenscar Beast in order to complete the Smuggler Quest cache! Oh and in order to do The Ravenscar Beast you have to complete Ravenscar Treasure Trove and (the simple) Heather Haven But couldn't recommend them enough. Amazing scenery and challenging caches. Perfect for a huge milestone! Quote Link to comment
golfchick
a bit far to go for us but i've added them to a bookmarked list for future plans when we could go n stay n try n get as many of them done as poss. Quote Link to comment
BaCas
Our 1000th find was Church Micro 1000 which is a Wherigo (our one and only so far) but really enjoyed it Was planned for on our way home from hols in west country and before Kent County Cachers event in Loose nr Maidstone Church Micro 1,000...Wherigo to Church GC22R7D Good luck with whatever you choose golfchick Quote Link to comment
