  8. Sorry chaps but you've made it worse this time. Can we have the actula log dates back please - the 'about xxx days/months/years ago' is pretty useless. What is the point of the avatars?
  9. I'm pleased to report that Walter has passed the initial tests and is in the race. You are correct, the race is open to all 'Welsh Flag Tags', not just those included in the Mega Wales Supporter Pack. These can be purchased from geocaching suppliers - a quick google gives http://www.ukgeocachers.co.uk/catalog/Wales-Flag-Tag.html and http://www.geotees.co.uk/welsh-dragon-flag-trackable-travel-tag-1.html, and there may be more. Jeff
  10. Could you enter him via the registration page please. ta. Jeff
  11. ... and they are off..... The runners and riders in the Swanmel Dragon Race can be seen here. Clarification on how the race mileage is calculated can be found on the description page. Simply put, mileage arising from an 'invalid' journey will be ignored. There is no need to delete any logs and Dragons will not be disqualified for leaving the UK but their travel abroad will not be counted. The league table will be updated with mileage information in a few days.
  12. Useful information for those attending Mega Wales can be downloaded from the Mega Wales website or directly here in PDF or Word formats. Just 4 weeks to go.... Jeff
  13. Thank you. Yes, we can arrange to send it on after the event. See the website for full details. We are sorry you can't make it and hope you have a swift recovery.
  14. The Mega Wales Committee is now in a position to respond to feedback from a number of cachers with regard to fund-raising activities and the financial situation. Currently, based on income generated to-date and projected sales of geocoins and the Supporters Pack, the finances are looking healthy. Consequently there are no plans, at this time, for targeted fund-raising at events over the next few months, apart from offering the opportunity to purchase geocoins (and thereby save on postage & packing). The Committee has formally announced the availability of its Supporters Packs via the Shop on the Mega Wales website (http://www.megawales.co.uk/shop/). Purchase of the Supporters Pack will ensure that you receive the Official Mega Geocoin together with other geocaching related products - the official Mega Wales Geocoin will not be sold separately or be available on the day of the Mega so we would encourage early purchase of the Supporters Pack. The next Event with planned fund-raising by the Committee will be the Annual South Wales Event (GC2KBWH) in Saundersfoot on 1 May 2011 being organised by Mushroom Mike. We hope to see you there where we can provide an update on plans for the Mega. The Committee wishes to thank everybody that has assisted in fund-raising to date. The contributions that we have received, be it 10p, £1, £10 or more, have helped put us in this current healthy financial state. We are now drawing up the fund-raising plans for May-July. Please contact the Secretary via the website if you are holding an event in that period and intend to raise funds for Mega Wales either yourself or by inviting members of the Committee to attend/assist. So as not to deter anyone from attending these events we will attempt to keep the fund-raising low key. Details of events where fund-raising will take place will be on the Mega Wales website.
  15. The dates for the majority of the side events for Mega Wales 2011 have now been agreed. Details can be found on the Mega Wales website.

  18. As announced at the Scottish MEGA Event, the UK's fourth Geocaching MEGA Event will be held next year in the Brangwyn Hall, Swansea on Sunday 31st July 2011 (see GC2921G and www.megawales.co.uk for more details). The MEGA Committee has recently been restructured with Gordon Hindess (Write of “Write and Mane”) taking over the post Chairman and he can be contacted via his caching name on the Groundspeak website or via the Megawales website. The Committee continues to welcome offers of support from the Global Geocaching Community both leading up to the Event and over the course of the MEGA Event period next year. Please do not hesitate to contact any serving member of the Committee if you can help in any way! The last three UK MEGA Events have been attended by over 1,200 geocachers and the Welsh Geocaching Community hopes to continue on successes from these previous MEGA Events. Thank you all for your support and we look forward to seeing you on the day.
  19. Ye Ole Survey Monuments cache (GC45CC) has just notched up over 4000 finds on the 406 monuments. It has been logged by 977 different cachers with 300 of these logging more than one monument. YSM385 Kinnoull Hill has been found most times (76) with YSM348 Brean Down coming second with 61 logs, and YSM300 Brimham Rocks third with 48. Do I detect a pattern here? Will a trig near Swansea take the lead next year? After many years tussling for the top spot The Gecko’s and Andy33 have been overtaken by Pharisee with 174 finds. More statistics, information and downloads can be found on the YOSM site.
  20. Also in Somerset: You've Found It, Now What? GCWBXM
  21. I've added a new feature to the YOSM site - 'statpics' are now available. These will be updated everytime the stats are updated i.e. every 2-4 weeks. The resources (MM csv, GPX, TomTom POI, etc.) are updated whenever a new YOSM is published, usually within a day or two. Let me know if you have any problems with any of the above files. Jeff
  22. Try <table border="1"> <tr> <td>row 1, cell 1</td> <td>row 1, cell 2</td> <td>row 1, cell 3</td> </tr> <tr> <td>row 2, cell 1</td> <td>row 2, cell 2</td> <td>row 2, cell 3</td> </tr> </table> Jeff
  23. Firstly - to clear my name - I did reply on the 13th June (and witihin 1 hour of receiving the email!). I resent it this morning - did you get it? Secondly - not sure why the reply did not arrive as I didn't get a 'failure notice'. In general we will reply with 48 hours, so if you don't get a reply something may have gone wrong and I suggest you try again. If anybody else is peeved at us for not replying to your email then rest assured that it was answered and we are not ignoring you - please try again.
