mathogre
My name, mathogre, is part of a complete anagram (Evil Math Ogre Kgh Ra) of my Real Life Name. I'm also a mathematician, er, that's really Mathemagician. I sling equations and craft epic algorithms. Years ago I belonged to the Institute of Navigation, and remember reading a paper about the relativistic effects regarding the clocks on the GPS satellites. (It was actually very interesting!) +RobinHoody80
Since my first name is Robin, several years ago, I chose Robin Hoody as my "alter ego/adventure" name. One of my many nicknames is "Robin Hood". Also, I usually am wearing a hoody when it's cold instead of wearing a heavy jacket. Plus I love the ring "Robin Hoody" has. Quote Link to comment
+1lonegunmen
My username is a hat tip to the three computer geek conspiracy theorists who occasionally helped Mulder and Skully on the X-Files TV series, from the 90's. Quote Link to comment
+T0SHEA
Create a username: in our case it was the pressure, then panic... Barb and Keith - Hunters of Geocaches now we hunt waymarks and rarely geocache anymore. Though I do use Geocaching as a resource for finding waymarks. Quote Link to comment
+K2GW
The Federal Government assigned it to me. Under international treaties, I am, by law, the only person with this username in the world ? Edited March 26, 2019 by K2GW 1 Quote Link to comment
+swanli4
Heidi is one of my favorite children books, and Schwanli is one of her Grandfathers goats. I dropped the "ch" a while ago for some log in to some site that already had a schwanli, and have been signing in as swanli4 ever since. 4 is my favorite number, and so happens to be how many children I have. Platinum_Tugboat
A very long time ago, when the internet was young, and instant messaging was becoming popular. I needed a name to create an account, I was young, and creating a "username" was unfamiliar to me. I chose for the instant messaging application to pick my name for me. In a set of 4 randomly generated names, The_Platinum_Tugboat appeared. It was soooo random, I just HAD to pick it. To think.. a computer, without the aid of a human, could come up with such a random name amazed me, and still does to this day. Quote Link to comment
TechniSean
I'm combining my profession and my name. I'm a technician and my name sounds like "cian". Quote Link to comment

+Papaya101
When I was little (ok, maybe I’m still “little”) my grandparents took me to Universal Studios in Orlando. In Harry Potter World (I’m a huge Potterhead), when you buy a stuffed Pygmy puff there’s a huge adoption ceremony where you get to pick a name and it’s announced to the whole store. I was a little crunched for time so I chose “papaya”. A while afterward, I was introduced to Geocaching and what better name to give to my account than my pet! Unfortunately, just “papaya” was taken so I added a random number. Edited May 20, 2020 by Papaya101 Quote Link to comment

Darwin473
Almost the epitome of laziness on my part for mine. I needed a username for an email address, happened to look at a real estate housing ad, which was for unit 4, 73 L.... I forget the rest of the address. But yeah , it's a movie trope "figure out the password by looking at something in front of you" thing. 2 Quote Link to comment
+GeoElmo6000
I don't know if anyone is interested in a video explanation of how I chose my geocaching username, but if you are, here it is. It explains how I started geocaching, how I chose my name, how I first entered the Geocaching International Film Festival, and so forth. 1 2 Quote Link to comment

+TrailHawkEye
My caching mobile is a Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. My favorite comic book character is Hawkeye. Combine the two and you have TrailHawkEye. Coincidently, I am into archery and have also been told quite a few times by my students over the years that I look like Jeremy Renner. Quote Link to comment

+Smitherington
I do not remember why but when I was in school I thought it would be good to have an alias. I created a persona with first, middle, and last name. When I started geocaching (20 yrs ago) the last name of my alias was a natural thing to use. Thus - Smitherington. Quote Link to comment
