+RoyalRed
I love my Colorado but to date I have had to return it twice for repairs. First time my power switch crapped out. Had to press the button multiple times to turn on or off. Just recently had to return again due to the thumbwheel sticking after caching out in the rain. Major pain having to send it back and forth but have to say I am pleased with the speed and response by Garmin. Anyone else having to send their unit back and forth? Quote Link to comment
flyjazz
This should be an interesting thread to see where the weak spots are with buttons, thumbwheels, etc. Please everyone, let's not start on about water leaks as it's been beaten to death. Quote Link to comment
+webscouter.
I am returning mine for the first time this week as the battery connector broke. I use the GPS everyday and change batteries every morning. I was an early adopter and bought the GPS within a month of it coming out. BTW, you can remove the thumbwheel easily and clean it out when it sticks. Quote Link to comment
+Crid
Once, because I managed to break the screen. My own stupid fault. Very happy with the service I got from Garmin UK. Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
Zero. Bought it in Early Feb 2008. Quote Link to comment
+Timpat
Once. I was an early adopter getting mine within the first weeks of release, and the clock did not keep time which effected many functions. Garmin sent a new unit right away with a much higher serial number and I've never had a problem since. Quote Link to comment
+Tequila
Three....then I demanded Garmin exchange it for an Oregon. They did and I have been happy ever since. All three units leaked. The final unit died after the batteries ran out. It came up "System Software Missing" and it was a brick. Quote Link to comment
+Red90
Never. The thumbwheel comes off for cleaning. Yours was probably dirty. Quote Link to comment
Dosido
Zero. Bought Feb 2008. Quote Link to comment
+Gushoneybun
No returns for me, although when I spin the wheel it sometimes whizzs around and I can not select certain digits but Garmin sent me a new wheel and it seems to be better now. Quote Link to comment
+Teddy2k
Zero returns for me as well. Bought it in December 2008. Quote Link to comment
+shutle64
I have 2 Colorado's. No Returns here. I have had to clean the wheel and add some silicon to it, better than brand new on the wheel. Quote Link to comment
savant9
Bought July '08, never needed to return, been a great unit. Quote Link to comment
+Snwjnky
Great unit while I had it. No problems. Returned it once when the Oregon came out. Quote Link to comment

+The Manor Borns
Thanks for the tip about removing and cleaning the thumbweel. Does anyone have any advice on how to remove the wheel? Do I just pry or pull it off? I suppose I could just try myself but I don't want to break anything! Thanks, Marcus Quote Link to comment
+splashy
Just something thin between the case and the wheel at 2 sides Or your nails Edited September 4, 2009 by splashy Quote Link to comment
+Paul_Aris
Zero and I use mine out in the snow all the time. Quote Link to comment
+GeekBoy.from.Illinois
Colorado 300 purchased Feb 2008. Zero Returns, but at new years 2009, had an opportunity to "upgrade" to an Oregon 400t for $250, so I took that. New owner of my old CO 300 is still using it with no issues (that I know of). Mid July June returned for USB port on top loose. Received refurbished unit quickly. First unit had 1 GB RAM, this one only 500MB RAM. (Yes I know they are suposed to only have 500MB. Garmin told me they had different suppliers) This unit locks up constantly, every 5-15 minutes. Geting ready to ship this one back. Quote Link to comment
