countrydirt
What is your percentage of DNF? We have only been out three times but our find percentage for traditional caches is dismal - about 25%. I suspect one cache was in a pack rat nest and I wasn't about to dig out all of the cactus! Virtual caches - we are 100%, but that is not that difficult - find what is described! I am curious about other's experiences. Quote Link to comment
Allanon
I don't keep track of it. What I find, I find and what I don't, I don't. Quote Link to comment
StarBrand
I log 1 DNF for every 6 finds (on average). Quote Link to comment
briansnat
This question came up a few weeks ago and I think my DNF percentage was 21% Quote Link to comment
Chrysalides
Historically (which, in my case, doesn't go very far) just above 10%, but currently I seem to be on an upward tick. Oh, I logged a DNF on a virtual - CO asked for answers to 4 questions, I only found 3. CO took pity on me and allowed the find Edited June 9, 2009 by Chrysalides Quote Link to comment
NYPaddleCacher
This question came up a few weeks ago and I think my DNF percentage was 21% I aggregated the responses on that thread. Based on a small sample size of 8 or so responses the average worked out to just over 10%. The results are far from scientific because I have not idea how each respondent came up with their numbers, but it's probably a reasonable ballpark figure to target. Quote Link to comment
Renegade Knight
...I am curious about other's experiences. 10% though I suspect it's actually worse. Quote Link to comment
niraD
I just checked my logs. I've got 50 DNFs and 715 Finds. That doesn't count the DNS (Did Not Search) logs, which I post as Notes. So my DNFs are 6.5% of my total of DNFs + Finds, whatever that means to you. I've logged multiple DNFs before finding some caches. For others, I've logged one DNF and never returned. Make of it what you will. Quote Link to comment
knowschad
A bit above 6%. Of course, that does not include DNFs that I later found... those are strictly DNF logs vs. Found It logs. Quote Link to comment
Firefly911
Haven't checked my stats but we log a DNF about 10 percent of the time. Of course some days are much better or worse than others. Quote Link to comment
Arrow42
Man, my DNF for today has been abysmal. 60% today. Over all... maybe 10-20% I guess. Quote Link to comment
RonnieGeo
Overall, around 22%, but did not figure it out by type (just total DNF and total finds). Quote Link to comment
Pieman
184 DNFs and 1376 finds, ie 13% DNFs- allowing only one DNF per cache and counting DNFs even though I may have later found them. Quote Link to comment
