+icefall5 Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 An option to watch for in the instant notifications is Geocache Course. What exactly is that?
Jeremy Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 There are none of them yet When there are we'll let ya know.
+blb9556 Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 The name says it all. If you go to the insta-notify page it says when making a new notification under the dropdown box "geocache course". If you click it, it gives you an error message. Why is it their?

+FireRef Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Wouldn't one of the following have been a better option? 1) Simply telling what that is, as Jeremy did after following 3 links to get there. 2) Making the link from your response go directly to the topic with the answer, rather than having to go through several threads to find out what was being talked about? I understand searching for a topic is a good idea before you post something, but to make someone go through a series of steps to figure out what the answer is because they didn't search, and confusing some of us that didn't post the question ourselves, really doesn't make any sense.

Jeremy's answer wasn't much help either. What course? Where? By Whom? Many new features go online and you have to go through a series of hoops to even find out about them. I understand keeping some under wraps so you don't get the "Are we there yet?" posts to a minimum, but once the cats out of the bag...give up the info!
+DavidMac Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Remember that grand conspiracy that Michael and Quiggle worked to cover up in the recent "Published retracted caches" thread? I suspect that the Geocache Course has something to do with it. Maybe the "geocache course" is what you have to go through to become a platinum member? "Hey...have you ever noticed that the Crossing the Desert is a lot like the Unblinking Eye?

Nope. Non-Searchers must be punished. Efficiency is not the job of the forum moderator, discipline is. Keystone was not trying to be informative, he was trying to punish the OP.
Keystone Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Thanks for the laughs from some of the regular critics. If I wanted to "punish" someone for starting a repeat topic, I'd have closed the duplicate topic. Instead, seeing that the question had gone unanswered for more than an hour, I had time for a quick post to point him towards the information he needed. I regret that I could not be helpful enough to meet everyone's high standards.
