+ScoutingWV
I was cleaning out some geostuff and came across the samples from a couple coin projects. Not artist editions or anything like that, just the samples made and delivered for review before being minted. So now I'm wondering what to do with them. Do people trade them? Maybe attach a TB tag and set them loose? Maybe attach them to rifle targets and get in some practice? Not sure what I'm going to do with mine. Question is - what do you do with yours? +Frank n Beck
I dont have any, but if I did I might turn them into tb's. Other than that Im nut sure LOL Quote Link to comment

+GEO*Trailblazer 1
If you wanna trade I might have something. I do have 1 or 2 non trackable in there somewhere. Quote Link to comment
+vw_k
You could always leave them in new caches as FTF prizes. Just mention it on the cache page and mention that they are samples. I'd hunt for one of those, it'd be a nice trinket to remember a caching experience by. Quote Link to comment

+fox-and-the-hound
I encourage everyone to send them to me for safekeeping! Seriously though, I'd put them out as FTF prizes with a nice card explaining the importance of their existence. Quote Link to comment
ATMouse
The Allegany State Park Geobash event gives them away. We had a bunch that were part of our Door Prizes at the Coin Expo at our event last year. People seemed happy to get them. We did explain what they were. Quote Link to comment
+ScoutingWV
Thanks for some good ideas. I really had no idea that people would be interested in trading other non-trackables for samples. I like the idea of using them as gifts, FTF prizes, etc. too. Maybe there's a cointest in my future ... Quote Link to comment

+Mr.Explorer3
I have somehow ended up with a few samples geocoins and I will trade for them if they are offered. These go well in someones album if they do not ever activate them. Quote Link to comment
+crake
Give them away as Mystery Gifts Quote Link to comment
+zazth
When we ordered our coin we were supposed to get six samples BUT due to a mix up at the mint we only got two. (Seems the mint only got two covers initially!) Those two samples are not trackable but have my name on one and Mike's on the other. Mike refuses to part with them. The mint still owes us the other samples, so they are now going to be trackable samples. One of a kinds! I have a feeling one of them will end up in a cointest. Quote Link to comment
+Damenace
Those are considered SE's and fetch 5 to 6 times what the original coin sold for . Did you have any samples reminted, what are the quantities, was there multiple metals???? Alright never mind it was all a joke(pun intended )! Quote Link to comment
avroair
Since Oakcoins samples are trackable (with a unique icon) I usually give them as prizes. Quote Link to comment
+GATOULIS
Specimen geocoins? I have never seen something like that! What is the difference from the others? Only that they are not trackable? Well, if 1 or more coins need a home, someone to adopt them and want to send them in Greece, ...just send me an email! Unfortunatelly I have nothing for trading! Please, do not make them rifle targets!!! Nikos. Quote Link to comment
