+Alice Band
Pottering around on the Internet (as you do) I discovered that Tesco are now selling GPS devices including the hallowed 60CSX. And whats more you can buy it with just clubcard points! If you are a Tesco shopper and fanatical clubcard points collector you can now get yourself a nice shiny new device with your bananas The range starts from the basic yellow eTrex and works up. And in theory purchasing it with clubcard points makes it free. Has anyone purchased one this way, and if so is it all as good as it sounds? My apologies if I am not divulging anything new. Not exactly the lowest prices around are they? Quote Link to comment
+PopUpPirate
Aye quick price comparison with Amazon (Garmin) shows big differences. Plus Tesco Lock/Lock are a rip off too! Quote Link to comment
+Team S-J
Slightly off topic but the best value I've had out of Tesco Clubcard Points was at Airkix in Milton Keynes. They work out at £4 for each £1 of voucher. Some of Team S-J can be seen flying at www.sayce-jones.co.uk/robin/video/airkixrobin.mpg (4MB) also www.sayce-jones.co.uk/jonathan/video/airkixjon.mpg (4MB) We can't wait to try it again. +Sensei TSKC
Are you saying that Tesco is pricey and Amazon isn't? Well not according to the link supplied above. Amazon are selling a second hand GPSMAP 60C for £760+ Hmmm Quote Link to comment
+rutson
No, booksandmusicsupply are selling a second hand GPSMAP 60C for £760+ using Amazon marketplace as an advertising tool. Quote Link to comment
+Sensei TSKC
The link supplied did not show Amazon selling the 60CSx at all! Quote Link to comment
+Donmoore
So how many points do you need to get one? Quote Link to comment
Edgemaster
So how many points do you need to get one? 449 http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.200-5870.aspx Quote Link to comment
+The Cache Hoppers
449 points to buy one???! I wish! I would be right down there now instead of reading about it on here! You get 449 points when you buy one for £449 .... I think 1p = 1 point so you need (counting on fingers and toes) ....a lot more points than 449. Quote Link to comment
+Pengy&Tigger
So how many points do you need to get one? 449 http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.200-5870.aspx No, that's the points you get FOR buying one. To buy anything, it's a penny per point, therefore you need 44,997 points to buy one. Anyone got 45k spare to spend on groceries and fuel? Quote Link to comment

nobby.nobbs
ok going off at a tangent but NEVER use tesco vouchers to buy stuff at tesco's. do one of their deals instead where they get converted to 4 times their face value.... Quote Link to comment
+2202
I see Tesco describe the Garmin as a pedometer!!! Thats a lot of dosh for something you can pick up for a fiver. But then overweight Tesco customers may well need a pedometer to help them get their weight off Quote Link to comment

I convert my clubcard points into airmiles. We got a great cheap holiday in Tenerife this spring. Did loads of caching too which makes it on topic! Quote Link to comment
The Toughs
Seen written in the grime on the back of a Tesco lorry Tesco, Very Little Helps just about sums them up I think Quote Link to comment
+4 Badgers
I just love the descriptions: "This yellow plastic and rubber GPS is water resistant" - but for the non-Geocacher there's no real explanation as to what it could do for you! Quote Link to comment
+Alice Band
So conclusion? Don't bother and buy one in Canada or the USA for a fraction of the cost Does this make the UK the most expensive GPS buying place in the world? Quote Link to comment
nobby.nobbs
we're just the most expensive place to buy pretty much anything! they save time and effort by charging us the same number of £'s as $'s all they have to do is alter the symbol not the numbers!! get a shopping list and fly out there! now what was it i fancied...... +smilecrocodile
I would rather save up, buy a second hand Extrex or one from Ebay, avoid going to Tesco's at all costs and instead, walk to my local shops and buy locally. Much much more satisfying!! Quote Link to comment
