+Criminal
Is there any interest in another shootout down in the pit near McCleary? I was thinking of Sunday the 16th of Feb, and was hoping IronMaiden might even throw us an event. The pit is actually underwater right now so we’d have to shoot in a different direction than last time, and it’ll be tighter quarters. There should be plenty of room though. Chime in. +Allanon
Barring my required participation at work, I'd want to be there. I might even travel down that direction on Saturday and get some Counties and DeLorme pages then stay overnight somewhere and come home on Sunday evening. Quote Link to comment

+Recdiver
I'll keep this on my radar. Ditto that. edit to add - that I checked my calendar and the 16th of Feb. is a Friday so I'm assuming you mean Sunday the 18th. Edited January 30, 2007 by Recdiver Quote Link to comment

+Bull Moose
I'd love to do this, and might even get that .45 I've been eying up, but I'll be out of town that particular weekend. I'll keep an eye on this thread, though. Quote Link to comment
+Team Noltex
I've been down there several times since the last Shootout, even found Curmudgenly Gal there one time. You weren't lying about it being underwater, probably about 6 feet deep the last time I was there. Almost to the top of that hill in the middle. I think they may have opened up a spring or something when they bulldozed that new area. I'm not sure I can make the weekend of Feb 18 - it's the state high school wrestling tournament weekend I think. If we do it a day I can make it, bring some .223 ammo and I'll bring along the CAR 15 again. I think a BBQ may also be required. Quote Link to comment
+hydnsek
Feb. 17-18 seems to be a busy weekend for everyone. Maybe we need a different date? Quote Link to comment
+Criminal
Saturday or Sunday, I don't know which. We'll make a firm time if there's any interest, but either way, we'll be there. Or we won't. Whatever. Quote Link to comment
+Recdiver
I'll have to take a pass on this one. To much to do and too little time. Quote Link to comment

Two on my must do list. Let me know what day Sunday would probably be best. Quote Link to comment

+Criminal
It was COLD today! The group was small but the shooting was hot. I wanted to try out my new trail gun, a Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan in .44 Magnum so …The Girl and I headed down to the pit to give it a go. The sun popped out just long enough for the shooting and the rain began as we were walking back to the cars. Squarebear and Pink Pachyderm showed up, and later MisguidedOne surprised us. IronMan and IronMaiden showed up as well, and we all punched holes in the bowling pins. Team Squarebear headed out for the long drive back north and shortly after that we all headed out. …The Girl and I headed to pizza and beer at The Rock in Lacy with Ironman & Maiden. It was a terrific afternoon and when it warms up we need to get another big group together. I didn’t take a lot of pictures but here are a few: Edited February 19, 2007 by Criminal Quote Link to comment
+Team Noltex
Sorry we couldn't make it. The wife decided we were going to go caching instead. So not a total loss. Quote Link to comment

+ironman114
Another great time, brought the camera and didn't even take it out of the pack the whole weekend. Team Iron had fun too and I also forgot to get the camera out of my pocket. Thanks for the pics Criminal. Quote Link to comment
+misguided one
I wasn't sure if I was actually going to show up today. At about 11am WL told me to go and have a good time. And I certainly had a great time. I'm looking forward to "Shootout III". My father-inlaw says that I can borrow his hand guns. Thanks again Criminal for letting me play with your toys. IronMaiden
Despite my health is not the best for walking right now. I had a great time, meeting everyone. Thanks for the pictures Criminal. Since a certain someone forgot the camera was in his pocket. Good to see I can still hit a target, after not shooting my rifle in many years. Quote Link to comment
+W7WT
Thanks for the pictures. We have been to that pit and found a cache there a few years back. Our son from Alaska bought us a Walther 5 inch P22 for Christmas. We want to take a gun safety course and the special one day one for the wife. It also has a laser beam attached. Since I have lost three of four tendons attached to the Roto-cuff I may have a problem in shooting the gun. Good thing it is only a 22 as I could not handle the recoil of a larger caliber. Haven't shot a hand gun since WWII. If we get our act together we will join you doing your summer shoot. Thanks Dick and Arlene Quote Link to comment

It doesn't weigh much and being a 22 has virtually no recoil, a real fun gun to plink with. I'm looking forward to the next shootout. Quote Link to comment
+W7WT
Thanks for the info on the Walther P22. Hope to get out and shoot it soon. Glad to know it has virtually no recoil. The 80 year old wife also wants to learn how to safely handle it and to shoot it. Hope to meet you at the Spring Fling. thanks Dick Quote Link to comment
+...The Girl
I've been wanting to post here all week but it's been nothing but late nights and exhaustion since I got back. Criminal and I had a great time shooting with everyone last weekend. I'm sorry Allanon and Mopar couldn't make it. Mopar had a good excuse what with being on the other coast and all ... but, Allanon, really? ... busy? What could possibly be more important than shooting with fun friends? I enjoyed Crim's new .44 immensely and my hand didn't even bruise! Like (almost) everyone else, I left the camera in the car so I have no pics of the event. It was good seeing familiar faces and I enjoyed meeting a few new ones. Lunch was much fun, thanks to Team Iron for coming along! Thanks to everyone for coming out and making it a fun afternoon! +magking1971
I want to go to the next one, I have the ol' trusty shotgun and I just won a 54 cal blackpowder rifle in a local raffle and have not got to shoot it yet. Quote Link to comment
