I'm working with the family to put together a memorial service for my friend Brian where all his other geo-friends can get together to reminisce about our friend. I'm reaching out to those of you that have hosted events in the Kirkland/Redmond/Woodinville/Monroe/Everett area. Looking for a park for the event. Ideas, suggestions? I'm thinking that the big guy would love it.

I counted him as a friend and I grieve for him and his family.
  3. 94 miles away. Across the pass. On a Wednesday night. Guess I won't make it. {sigh} Darn. Next time. (((HUGS))) Now that I've replaced the clutch in the economical cache mobile I'll try to make it over more in the future. I did apply for a job in Yakima... luckily my sanity returned before I actually went through with it.

  5. Ooops, I guess that one is in Idaho. I don't think it matters, it is still in the middle of nowhere. Jim Pretty much describes Idaho don't it?
  6. We lost both of our kayaks in a divorce settlement (brother was storing them at his in-laws and during the divorce the father-in-law sold them). If I have that weekend free I'll consider renting one.
  7. I'm working that weekend.

    Snow?

They are mostly if not all clear by now.

    Snow?

Here in the Convergence Zone we received between 6 & 8 inches of white stuff. Last night it dropped to 32F. We also had the power go off 3 times, the last outage lasted over 6 hours coming back on at 3:30 this morning. Today I've seen a couple of snow flurries. Guess I'll pass on the caching today.
  10. Personally I like the idea of bagging dinner and instead planning a meet in a park. As much fun as it is to meet within everyone after the hunt trying to do that and eat is something that I believe we've outgrown. Even if we do find some place that can pack us all in that means the staff is overloaded and service suffers. I like the idea of meeting in small groups to eat a quick meal then gathering for a large group meeting. Just my $.25 worth.
  11. That's the story I've always heard. Floriduh is a Black Hole for TBs.
  12. Sad to say that I just received a phone call and I have to work this weekend. Saturday & Sunday 6:30 to 2 PM. I'm so sorry to have to back out of the trip at the last minute. Maybe next time.
  13. Anyone have a best guess on what the weather will be like on Sunday?
  14. Wellll..........as long as you're going to be a good boy. <pats Rec's head patronizingly> Is T2A going to be there? I invited her however she hasn't responded yet. So are water cannons allowed on this trip...or does that go against my promise of being good?
  15. If there is still room I would love to do this. I promise to behave this time, no really, I mean it this time. PLEASE Can I go, Please...
  16. You can do a search on nearest caches from your account page and count the results. Sounds like too much work plus I cans only count to the number of fingers and toes that I has.
  17. O.k. it has been a while for me so I'll ask. How do you find out how many are close to your home by miles?
  18. Nice snaps 'bro . I hope you can make the CM and now I wish I'd tried harder to go. I worked it out that we could go however in the end we decided we just weren't physically up for it. Maybe another time.
  19. You are in luck! We anticipated that some folks might encounter the problem which you have so succintly described, and the ALR requirements on the cache listing page make quite clear that if you do not have a soul to sell, you may instead leave the heart (freshly removed) and soul of an innocent. I wish you the best in your quest to log your find as soon as the cache is published! Could you please define innocent? Yes, as you have already indicated via a PM that you are willing and able to be one of the pre-publication finders. Here goes: An innocent is anyone who says "no" or tries to run when you approach them and tell them that you need to cut their heart out in order to earn a smiley for finding a "trade a soul" ALR geocache. On the other hand, if they readily give their assent, or if they volunteer to help you go out and find two innocents so that they can log a find as well, then they are not an innocent. Simple... That is a pretty loose definition. Thanks. However to clarify, if they are geocachers do they still qualify as innocent? What if they've logged virtuals? Or event caches?

    Stolen Geocoin

    I really like that idea.
  22. I can think of a few I'd swap my wife for however "...at least one child between the ages of 6 and 17..." we don't qualify anymore. I can be bold in these forums cuz my wife doesn't know how to access them. Muuhahahahahahaha!
  23. I have a Kodak Easyshare whatever that I bought for myself last christmas or maybe the one before that. I really like it unfortunately I keeps fergittin to bring it with me. It would be nice to have a smaller pocket sized camera however I'd probably lose it anyway.
