+Moote
I have heard all kind of tales, of Cachers who have: Abandoned their wife/husband to go caching Gone out for an FTF at silly O'clock Spent hundreds of pounds in petrol in a day (Guilty) Purchased hundreds of pounds of Hi-Tec equipment (Guilty) Visit events when ever and where ever This as lead me to think, that some of us are obsessed in an unhealthy way. Now obsessions are usually OK, but if it begins to take control of your life, then it is usually considered unhealthy. Are some of us really on the route to Geocachers Anonymous? +Donmoore
I would agree with with what your saying. when i started coming on the forums i could not believe how seriously some take this game. I must admit i have left the house at silly o'clock to get a cache nevermind a FTF as it is on the edge of a golf course and i didn't like the attention i was getting going to look for it at a normal time. But for me i still generally consider it a family affair so i think i will be on the straight and narrow for another little while! Quote Link to comment
+HazelS
Hello Milton... Quite simply... YES! Do I care? NO! I've made lots of great mates through caching, and that outweighs everything else... (even you mate!!) Quote Link to comment

Guilty of 1-4, and likely to be 5. Therefore, the answer YES. Quote Link to comment

nobby.nobbs
given the choice of some things to be obsessed over and caching i'd go for caching. good fun, hurts no one, meet great people, walks in the countryside...... but i draw the line with my daughter. given the choice of time with her or time caching? no contest. but then she often wants to go caching anyway Quote Link to comment
+Pengy&Tigger
It`s just a past-time for us, no obsession at all We could give it up anytime we like.... But seriously. BC.. (Before Caching) we used to sit around in the house playing computer games, and generally not doing a lot socially. So, if gets us out of the house in the fresh air, we`ve met some really lovely people too. So if that`s a bad thing, give me more of it please. Pengy Quote Link to comment

Nediam
I have heard all kind of tales, of Cachers who have: Abandoned their wife/husband to go caching Gone out for an FTF at silly O'clock Spent hundreds of pounds in petrol in a day (Guilty) Purchased hundreds of pounds of Hi-Tec equipment (Guilty) Visit events when ever and where ever ........ 1 - Not Guilty (but not married so N/A really ) 2 - Haven't gone out early for a FTF but have ended up being out in the early hours after getting info for a FTF. 3 - Definitely guilty! (at leasty over a weekend anyway) 4 - Not Guilty - I'd already bought all the stuff I needed before I heard of/found Geocaching 5 - Not guilty - Haven't had the chance to visit any yet So it looks like I'm a 1.5 out of 5 which I reckon means I'm not obsessed............yet Edited September 12, 2006 by Nediam Quote Link to comment
Helen in Mustardland
Er, my husband (of all of 4 months) already describes himself as a caching widower... I have also been guilty of going for a LONG walk in temperatures of -8 deg just for some caches (Hazel you're as guilty as me there! LOL) and of walking round London caching til I got blisters on the soles of my feet, just so's I'd be at 400 for Shrops. Quote Link to comment

We are guilty of 2 to 5 and guilty of 1 if you substitute wife/husband for son/daughter . But we're not obsessed, we could give it up any time if we wanted to Quote Link to comment
+purple_pineapple
N/A to number 1, as we cache together YES to 2, 3 and 4 Where possible to number 5, but we can't go far during term time as MrsPP doesn't get to choose her holiday! We are also guilty of planning our annual holiday around where the best caching in the country was.... Does that count? Quote Link to comment
+The Bolas Heathens
1 - 4: guilty as charged 5: semi-guilty - we've been to quite a few meets and really enjoyed them but not gone that far away yet. Quote Link to comment
