  1. Hmmmm ....................................... I owe an apology to all, especially at Groundspeak. Seems I had messed with my Paypal account sometime ago and somehow cancelled my recurring membership. An email from TPTB at Groundspeak gently explained the errors of my ways Membership now renewed and all back to normal. Again, apologies to all for the "senior moment" Off now to see what all the changes are about
  2. Thanks for the reassurance Niall I owe an apology to all, especially at Groundspeak. Seems I had messed with my Paypal account sometime ago and somehow cancelled my recurring membership. 3. I nearly paid, thinking I must have missed it, then remembered it renews in October - checked back and found a receipt for the payment. So haven't paid agian ..... yet. Were all your PQs and Bookmark lists still intact when you re-paid? Not sure you can "adopt" bookmark list. I guess you could create your own PQ from them and go on adding any new ones. But it would be a bit laborious to create a new bookmark list of them from scratch, even using GSAK to list them from a PQ. All I'm going to miss is any new ones from today or yesterday, because I'm not getting any email notifications of newly published caches. Perhaps you could forward any new cache notification emails to me, so that I can catch up once my status is reinstated. In fact, if you don't mind Hazel, this would probably be the easiest way. The last PQ download I have is from 28th April (which contains 317), but I did add a few more to the list (8) between then and 30th. Looking at my emails, the last Bookmark notification I got was at 22:42 on 2nd, so it went wrong during the night last night, anything since then, I've missed. I'm sure it'll all come out in the wash
  4. I use an Oregon 400T with nearly the whole of the UK OS mapping on it and find it superb for routing, walking, paperless caching, in fact everything you ever need from a GPS
  5. Hi Hazel, Done a few here and there, but don't get the time as easily as I used to !! So it tends to be on holidays or en route somewhere if time allows (not often enough). Seems to be problems with all sorts of things now on the website - wonder if most of them are related to my membership status. I still have the Wirral bookmarklist, which I was keeping up to date from time to time, but at the moment, I can't due to being down graded to a basic member. I think I have something like 170 odd unfound in the list.
  6. Been a while since I've been on here, but just been having some problems with my premium membership, see here. So thought I'd call in and say hello again Anyoen else been having similar problems since the recent round of upgrades? Edit to correct link
  7. Hope, when it's resolved, that I haven't lost all my PQs, watchlists, notifications etc... etc... And, at the moment, while they're out enjoying themselves, I can't see or do more than half of what I want to edit to add: I've sent in a support request - wonder how long it'll take to get a: answered b: problem resolved.
  8. I've been a Premium Member for nearly 5 years. Automatic renewal etc... each October. Checked into my account this evening (UK time) and I'm now a basic member
  9. Nice cache and location - not sure it's really a 3* terrain though, more like a 2.
  10. Ha ha, nice one - I could do with that picture to use on a forum I moderate on !!!!
  11. Thanks for the response - we seem to have cross posted.
  12. Thanks to the cacher who took the time to email me with a response. Please lock this now - I have my answer.
  13. I've just spent an hour trying to find out what happened originally. I've had an email from another UK cacher who explained the basics. Thank you to that person for taking the time. It looks like it's degenerated into a slanging match which appears to be (a minority in) the UK vs the Rest of the World. All this will do is get the UK, in general, seen in a bad light. Seems to me, from the small amount of posts I have read (having not been on the forum for a while, and don't have the time to plough my way through the entire forum searching out the relevant posts), that there's a few who think they can speak for the entire UK caching community. Please don't speak on my behalf - I have a voice of my own, if I choose to use it. Not to mention the rest of the UK cachers who never come on the forum, but are being represented by it. As previously suggested, chill, and let those who can, and need to, sort it out without filling the forum up with a slanging match and witch hunt.
  14. Not been on the forums for a while, but it's obvious been some upset has happened. But, there are now so many threads discussing it, making suggestions about what to do about it etc... etc... I can't see what happened originally (woods/trees springs to mind here maybe) and I don't have the time, or inclination, to plough my way through them all.
  15. Just one slight "quirk" if you use more than one CM db. The appropriate db needs to be the last db opened for this to work. I use smart names, so the link is \cmate:%smart
  16. I don't seem to have that function on my Ipaq 5550
  17. Just about ready to go. Leaving home lunchtime Fri, caching En Route to Folkestone. Then a "few" on the other side of the water. Should be arriving at the event between 10 and 11 am Sat. Camping Sat night and driving (caching !!) back Sun. According to Mapsource, the whole trip will be around 1200 miles Depending on how many detours we take looking for caches What's my name
  18. A week to go and looking forward to it. En route caching in the planning
  19. Pretty much came to that conclusion shortly after my post. But I like the "ruggedised" idea.
  20. Anybody got any experience of the Satmap Active 10? I've been led to believe you have to re-buy all your Memory Map maps to run on it and they wont let on what platform it runs on However, despite that, it seems like a good piece of kit. edit to sort link!! edit to add: found it works on MS Windows CE 5.0 - so shouldn't Mem Map V5 run on it?
  21. Thanks John, not too late - haven't bought anything yet - but getting close as my old faithful 5550 is getting slower and slower and having more than it's fair share of issues with life. Will have a look at the HTC - not sure I want a 'phone etc... but if it up for the job then it could be the solution.
  22. Just found the Mio 560 is available from some outlets. Will Memory Map 2004 or Ver 5 run on Windows mobile 6? Same question for Cachemate?
