+Cryptik Souls Crew
As well as having a trip odometer, my gps also has a total distance odometer, so I'm guessing most gps receivers do. Since I bought my gps just over 3 years ago it shows that it had covered a total distance of 26748 miles, I've owned it for 1160 days, giving it an average mileage of 23.46 miles per day. So, for no particular reason, I'm wondering how many miles everyone else has put on their gps...? Quote Link to comment
Deego
I zero mine every year and only use it when caching, it was just under 3,000 miles last year i think. I must get out and cache more Quote Link to comment
+Stuey
I zero mine every time I go out. It's been to Oz and back though, so probably on towards 30-40,000 miles I expect. Quote Link to comment
+HazelS
I zero mine after every trip out Quote Link to comment
+MarcoXono
Mine's on 4828 miles (after 11 months), but I remember one occasion where it was, briefly, showing a speed in excess of 9,000 miles per hour (I was walking!), so I doubt that's accurate. Quote Link to comment
+Jonovich
Mines been zeroed many times during ownership, but I have been reluctant to zero it again since carrying on a flight and achieving a mximum speed rating of 524 miles per hour... Looks very impressive on the dashboard of the Land Rover that does! J Quote Link to comment

Deego
I was on foot must have been a blip Quote Link to comment
+Alibags
I had a blip like that, when I turned on my GPS after being in Newcastle, and it confidently told me I was still in the NE but then quantum leapt to me true precision, giving me some brilliant mph figure. Have not kept it as I regularly clear my odometer. Quote Link to comment
+The Blorenges
Yes, I zero mine too but its been to South Africa, Libya, Sweden plus other places. Speed wise I can only claim 492MPH but how about altitude? 33823 feet for me. Had it running on a plane from Tripoli to UK over the med, using Mapsource on my laptop (sad or what!). +choccymandm
Total distance ... not much in comparison! almost 3 years @ 5187miles - moving average of 26.5mph! As for non-glich speed 682.6 mph - the pilot reckoned we had one hell of a tail wind which would explain why a 10 1/2 hour flight took just over 9 hours!! Quote Link to comment
+tteggod trackers
i reset mine often too but is there anywhere its stored and not deleted? i have etrex legend. Quote Link to comment
+Happy Humphrey
I've never zeroed mine, and it registers 1411 miles in 1.5 years. This includes cacheing trips to France, Germany, Spain, Egypt and California, so I guess it only registers mileage gained when actually switched on! Quite meaningless, as sometimes it will have been when on foot, other times when driving. HH Quote Link to comment
