+GEO*Trailblazer 1
I have put the idea out to several on the side, but here is the thread. Would a set of 4 coins with a TREASURE MAP on them work? You have to get all 4 coins to get the whole map. Buy,trade,barter,sale..or however you can get all 4 to make the map. It would be a lot of work getting it together not to count the expense. If it is a good idea let me know. I have the design and map and artwork for the coins and the map is already laid out. I have been working on it a while now and thought it time to put the idea out there. One Contest like that is going, but this is a lot different in that you would have to find the real treasure. Not that the other wasn't a cool treasure hunt.I survived it. And had great fun while doing it and maybe I will get to finish it. Thanks for your response. Quote Link to comment
+LadeBear68
Are you saying that when the map is put together it will give cordinates to an actual hidden cache? Quote Link to comment

+Marky
That sounds like an interesting challenge. It also sounds like maybe it is just for a local area, not a nationwide treasure hunt. --Marky Quote Link to comment

I just wanted to see if there is enough interest to invest that much time and money in it. Quote Link to comment
+Marky
Hmmm, if you are thinking of making this a "Pay to Play" kind of thing, I don't know how well that would go over. I think it would probably take all the fun out of it too (it would for me, probably). If not, you are looking at spending a LOT of your own money if each player has to get 4 geocoins to make up the map. I've seen similar things done with travelbugs, so it's possible to do it that way with geocoins, if you can keep them moving somehow. --Marky Quote Link to comment
+CacheDragons
I think it would be cool, but I also think it would be a local treasure hunt. I would not want to spend money on 4 coins that pointed to a location that was 1500 miles away from where I lived . If the coins were really cool, then I would probably buy them strictly to have the coin and ignore the hunt portion . Quote Link to comment

+Crowesfeat30
So, these would be square- or rectangle-shaped coins? The concept sounds very cool. Count me in for a set Crowesfeat30 Quote Link to comment

And even then(with whole map) it is a mind boggler and will not be an easy task to decipher, but that's the fun in it. Edited December 30, 2005 by GEO*Trailblazer 1 Quote Link to comment

+graylling
Coint me in. (pun intended) I'm up for it. Even if the final treasure is a long ways away I like the idea of the coins themselves. Quote Link to comment

+Shasties
Something I started in SE Michigan last year was the Shastie Stash Game which was played in 5 counties in SE Michigan and then this last spring was the Shastie Stash 2 game that is statewide. The games involved TB's instead of coins, but it was a treasure hunt type of game; find all the TB's and get the coordinates to the final cache. We've also had 2 other games in Mich like this; one by Windrose in the Flint area and another by Wingit in the Jackson area. All have been very popular. Quote Link to comment
