+Team GPSaxophone
just did the second closest. i'm norm!!!! NORM! My closest still hasn't been found by anyone. It was placed by a 6th grade class, but no one is answering emails about it. My secont closest is still a virtual, are dogs allowed on NPS land? I'm getting my puppy this weekend, it would give me an excuse to take a mile hike to get that cache off my closest list. Edited February 10, 2004 by Team GPSaxophone Quote Link to comment
Radman Forever
Mine is 15 from the south, it is a webcam that hasn't been found since october. AND HERE IS MY CLUMSY GIRLFRIEND! Quote Link to comment
+sbell111
The closest two unfound caches are two micros created by Monkeybrad. They are a mile or so away. I've made multiple attempts at each, but have been unable to close the deal. Quote Link to comment

You'll be lucky to get .1 miles! Quote Link to comment
+sbell111
You expect a little puppy to take such a lonnnnng walk?! You'll be lucky to get .1 miles! It depends on the pup. You can just stuff a young chihuahuahua in your pocket - or in the cache. Did you figure out the problem with your ifinder? Quote Link to comment
Bobthearch
27 miles to the nearest virtual. 32 miles to the nearest 'real' cache. There is one other, only 6 miles away, but it's not until March. -Bob Quote Link to comment

+cache_us_if_you_can
My nearest is 1.7 mi. away.... but it takes almost an hour to get to it and I just haven't had the time. Quote Link to comment
+shunra
My nearest is 7.1 miles, and I have 3 DNFs on it. Tomorrow I'll probably get a 4th. There are always reasons for not doing a few of those close to home. I think that the really interesting question is how big the radius is, within which the number of unfound caches is stable, due to the fact that caches get hidden within that radius as fast as you find them within that radius. For me, that's about 35 miles, I believe. Quote Link to comment
+Brian - Team A.I.
1.4 miles. And since I know nothing about Z-Transform and statistics equations like this, it might remain that way for quite awhile. the cache Edited February 13, 2004 by Brian - Team A.I. Quote Link to comment
+Team GPSaxophone
A new cache popped up yesterday only 1.0 miles from my house! I'm waiting for Sunday so the whole family (Mom and our new dog, too) can find it. Quote Link to comment

dsandbro
11 miles. But it is currently under several feet of snow and requires a snowmobile or skis to get to it. I'll wait for the Spring thaw. Quote Link to comment
+Fatboy Slim & Rainey Belle
I think I'm pretty much slackin'. MIA is less than 1000' from my house, and I still haven't done it. Why? Why not? Why ask why? Quote Link to comment

+yumitori
Sax, a little late on the answer, but in my experience pets are generally allowed in areas administered by the NPS but are not allowed on most trails. Quote Link to comment

Happy Boy
My closest not found is 26.6 miles. It requires a boat to reach, and at this time of year it is almost impossible to rent one. Plus I don't have much experience manuevering a canoe. So I probably will go a while without finding it. That is the only one I haven't found within 30 miles of my house. The 17 other caches within 40 miles of my house I haven't found break down like this: 4 caches I have DNFed 4 caches placed within the last couple of weeks that I haven't been able to get to 3 disabled 2 real long and somewhat complicated multis 1 puzzle cache 1 members only cache 1 real hard long multi (though listed as a regular) that is frequently DNFed. 1 cache that for no real reason I have never been able to attempt. +W7WT
470 feet. It is at a library where you have to do a lot of research on things I am not interested in. Then it is also a multi with some projection. I have been at this long enough that I don't do any caches just because they are there. It is a nice cache in a library and some people will enjoy it. It's just not for me. Dick, W7WT Quote Link to comment
+BadAndy
15.6 miles away. It's at the top of a hill after a 1500 foot climb..practically straight up. I'll try it after the snow melts. Quote Link to comment
+Team GPSaxophone
Of course, after I get ready for bed, a new cache appears 1 mile away! That's the third time this week! THe race for FTF is on... Quote Link to comment
+Geo Ho
The closest unfound cache to me is My Milford Mondo Metric Math Cache because if I did this my head my explode. Ack!! Happy caching and stuff! Quote Link to comment
+wimseyguy
I counted them from work because I don't have a working computer at home right now. Only .4 miles but it's an annoying webcam cache which most of the active local cachers have been ignoring. I drive right by it every day but don't bother to 'find' it. Next closest is 1.4 miles but its new and I just got back froma 10 day vacation. Then there are a few puzzles that are also pretty new in the 2-5 mile range that I haven't solved yet. After that it goes to a few that are each half day hikes about 10 miles away. Quote Link to comment
