100th 1/27/02

200th will be in the next two day.

I travel just like old bruce does. You know bruce here in the mid-west its pretty easy to find the caches. Just go out to Colorado, I went on one and I had to walk a mile in then climb a mountain to get to it. I'm going to try the 'inspiration point' when I'm in that area. Otherwise, I will be riding your coat tail. Until then, safe travels and hope to meet you on the road or off trying the same cache.

I have not found my 100th cache, I'm too busy maintaining the 105 caches that I have planted.

maintaining them is a chore in it's self.. I'll have 100 finds soon....

My first cache was on 6/4/2001, my 100th was on 3/2/02. 271 days.

200th find was on 5/11/02. 70 days.

Like many before me, I manage a fairly busy schedule and there are not a huge amount of caches in my area.

Let's see started weekend just after New Year's and bagged #100 a few days ago. That makes ~78 days. Just went back and counted how many were with the kids also. 59 of 103 were with two or all three of my little guys (5 years and below).

Probably will be slowing down some since most are now at least an hour round trip drive, so the days of a quick jaunt are a thing of the past for the most part.

Floopy, your intervals keep getting shorter and shorter . . . it's beginning to resemble the "great hydrogen in-rush" preceding the "big bang." Don't let the soles of your sneakers melt! icon_wink.gif

Here's a little Excel sheet I made up to predict when I'll finally hit 100:

cachegraph.jpg

The short red lines indicate individual caches, the green line is my cumulative total, and the black line is my linear projection.

According to a linear projection, my 100th find will be on January 7, 2005.

Ugh... I can't wait that long. At least it will be before I graduate.

Okay, 1st and second find on 25 Dec 2001 ... third on the 27th ... then I goofed off for a couple of weeks while the disease went through the incubation stages. It didn't seem bad during the middle of January. But, then it suddenly broke out in a force ... found the 100th cache on March 30th. Let's see, that's about 96 days.

I'm sure I would have done better, but my Geocaching, 12 step program does take up a considerable amount of time. And, my employers do ask me to show up and put in a full weeks worth of effort. And, there just plain aren't that many caches in the middle of Illinois. And, rcharlier created a fantastic 5/5 cache that took me four days to solve. And, Markwell has taken the last stage of his 5/2.5 home so I can't find it and log an additional cache. And, well ... ah ... you see ... if ... opps gotta go.

It looks like a few of us snagged our 400th find this weekend, so here's my update:

400th find 05/04/02

300th find 03/15/02

200th find 01/17/02

100th find 11/07/01

1st find 08/29/01

And those fun, fun, palindromes:

# 101 of 2002 2/28/02

# 202 of 2002 4/27/02

With the help of my geo-buddy, Iron Chef, a little advanced planning, and a major weekend geo-marathon, I was able to snag my 100th cache on the same day as my one-year geo-anniversary. Whoopee! icon_biggrin.gif
