vagabond
I've been using one for almost 5 years without any problem, I think the chp and local pds have more on their minds then suction mounts. That said, they could use it as a reason to stop you. When I normally go caching its early Sunday mornings and the laptop is on and with a mapping program its legal here in CA. Of course the way my instrument cluster is designed and all side windows are tinted the gps is not that noticeable, and front side window tints are legal in other states like Az where my vehicles are now registered Edited December 14, 2006 by vagabond Quote Link to comment
+Snake & Rooster
We've used one for over a year without problems as well. It stays on, even on bumpy roads and doesn't block any more from view than a friction mount or beanbag would. Might also mention that we know a certain attorney that uses one as well. []. Go ahead . . . live dangerously . . . buy it! Quote Link to comment

Search the user name Unite for Diabetes to see the list of all 20,000 tags to see find the one headed to your own city. I got my Unite for Diabetes TB in the mail today. It's trying to get to Yasynuvata, Ukraine. One obstacle that I can see is that the nearest cache to Yasynuvata is 309 miles away. +Cornerstone4
Hey gang, Just wanted to drop a note... This year, at the Temecula event, we are hosting the "Best of Southern California Cache Awards" ceremony. This is something Showstop has been doing for the Southern California group for several years now. Since our event has been drawing a large number of people from Southern California, I was asked if they could have some time at the event to make the presentations there. I happily agreed. So, sometime soon, he will be posting a notice in the Southwest Forums announcing that the nomination period is open. Make sure you participate and nominate your favorite caches for the appropriate categories. Nominations will remain open until the last week of January. At that point, he will create a bookmark of all the nomiated caches, and post an online voting ballot. I'd like to encourage everyone to visit as many caches as possible that are on the final list, and cast your vote before the event. Voting will end the Friday before the event, and the winners will be announced at the event. Sounds like some group caching road trips need to be planned for January! Quote Link to comment

This morning, I ran up Cowles at 0-dark-5:00 to see if I could observe the double sunrise a full six days before true solstice. We will be out of town for the real deal and it was going to be disappointing to miss my annual solstice site visit. Here is how the show looked at 6:49 am today. +Let's Look Over Thayer
And on the subject of the upcoming holidays... Whereas we, Let's Look Over Thayer, (hereinafter called "the wishor") wish to grant to you (hereinafter called "the wishee") season's greetings. The wishor wishes the wishee to accept without obligation, whether explicit, implied or implicit, the wishor's best wishes (hereinafter called "the greeting") for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, politically correct, low stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious or secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all and a financially successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2007, but with due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures or sects whose contributions to society have helped make America great, (not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country or is the only "America" in the western hemisphere), and having regard to the species, race, creed, colour, age, physical ability, religious faith, choice of computer platform or dietary preference of the wishee. By accepting this greeting the wishee is bound by these terms that: This greeting is warranted to perform as reasonably may be expected within the usual application of good tidings, for a period of one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever shall first occur. This greeting is subject to further clarification or withdrawal at the sole discretion of the wishor. This greeting is freely transferable provided that no alteration shall be made to the original greeting and that the proprietary rights of the wishor are acknowledged. This greeting implies no promise by the wishor to actually implement any of the wishes. This greeting may not be enforceable in certain jurisdictions and/or the restrictions herein may not be binding upon certain wishees in certain jurisdictions and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wishor. The wishor warrants this greeting only for the limited replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wishor. The wishee accepts that the greeting is made on an execution-only basis and that if the wishor had had full details of the wishee's personal circumstances the wishes in the greeting might have been different. Any use of the word "merry" shall not be taken to imply or encourage high or excessive intake of alcoholic beverages by the wishee or to imply that the wishee might or might wish to partake in any such intake.
