I first signed up with my real first name and last initial, and then once I browsed a bit and saw most people have something a bit more colorful. About a week later I changed it to Blue_Ranger, inspired by my geomobile.

After a couple months, I realized that people were misunderstanding my geocaching name, so I changed it a bit to make it more understandable. They still misunderstand my geocaching name, but not as often, and not in the same way.

It's a type of battery, right? ;)

That was what I was thinking, but then I realized my thinking was backwards.

Ah. Hmm... I'm Harry Dolphin! Have been so for twenty years or more. Started with Bulletin Boards. It's a handle(from CBers.) Not a user name. Remember when you dialed into someone else's computer to access Bulletin Boards? Then that BB ownerer would call in to access the BBs once a week or so? It was my handle when I spent ten years section hiking half the Appalachian Trail. Nope. I'm Harry Dolphin!

I signed up with my first name and last initial, and I've stuck with it. I'm simple like that I guess.

My mother first signed logs with something spur of the moment, so to speak. Then later she had an "Aha!" moment and came up with a great caching name for her and Dad. She logged her first finds saying, "Signed log as 'OriginalName'" so that the COs wouldn't get confused if they ever compared the written and online logs.

I changed my Geocaching name from my real name a couple of years ago. My profile has a brief description on what the name means. A friend and I (and others) would use it when we did Gimmick Coursemarker Road Rallye's (Hi niraD!), and other activities, back in the 70's. Turns out my friend is also a geocacher.

Skye.

Yeah, and Magnesium_Pearlcoat_Grand_Caravan would be quite a mouthful.

Well if you insist on being backwards, people are going to misunderstand you. So there!:D

I know you explain how to pronounce it in your profile, but I still can't help reading it in my head as "near-a-dee".

Yeah, I had to write a GSAK macro to automatically log a NM "log is full" message whenever I post a found log on micros!

Whatever do you mean by that, Nira? :P
