Australia has a bit of a hill to climb, but they can certainly make things very, very interesting with a win today! i don't think the USA team really cares who they face in the knock out round, but i certainly hope it is not Germany. any team except Germany, in my opinion. :anicute:

 

Would be great if australia wins :)

But why don't you want USA play against germany :P ? I think they both would have chances to win...but first of all, germany must win against ghana and ghana is very good.

Germany is also rooting for an Australia win or tie i'm sure, for if Serbia wins, then Germany MUST win in order to advance. excellent drama unfolding in these games.

 

you know, Germany has such a great soccer tradition, that i would rather the USA meets Ghana or Serbia rather than the German Machine! :P is the whole country of Germany watching the game today?! :) just one more hour to go! B)

Here are many football fans :)

Do you have "public viewing" too? There are big screens in as good as every town and the people meet to watch the game together and it's an unbelievable feeling if 5000 people are engrossed in the match together. If there is a goal, you are hugging people you don't even know :) and every where you can hear people singing songs :P

 

Just 40 more minutes :huh:

not many places for public viewing here in the USA. most people watch at home or at a local pub (Kneipe?). i am watching from home on ESPN the sports channel. one of the commentators on ESPN is Jürgen Klinsmann! :huh:

My friends... I am watching the games but this is a torture!

 

No, nothing wrong with the teams!!!!

 

Reporters and speakers of the Greek TV are on strike! so, we can watch the games but none is speaking! So.. we do not know for example why a goal is not legal, why someone took a card... (these are just examples! :anicute: ) and we hope we will see the rewind!

 

Anyway... Just because of the strike, the sound is higher and vuvuzelas are so loud on the TV that it is very cruel!!!

But they have a good chance against australia. maybe serbia and germany will both win and them both go to the next round......anyway...in 50 minutes we will know which teams go to the next round :)

In this turnament one is the big question.... Who is worse?? France or Italy??? Ok.. Italy scored more goals and didn't have so many fights during the turnament.... but we do not know after that.... :huh:

 

What is Italy doing? I thought that her group was a very easy one! No offense but New Zealand and Slovakia are not the teams that you can actually fear...especially if you are Italy (Last mundial winner)!!! And Paraguay is a very good team but not like Brazil or Argentina! So... how Italy ending last???

 

Italy was famous for its defense and now Slovakia scored a beautiful but a little funny goal (3rd)! I say funny from the way the goal started! Italians sleped there! Oh!!!

 

And Italy is the Cup holder (won last Mundial)....!!!! Now they are out!!!

that's something to talk about!!! WOW!! I can quess the titles in Italian and other sport sites and newspapers!!!

 

Italy was so good in other turnaments.... what happent now???

Mundial without Italy!!! Ok, they were not good but they always find a way to go to the semi finals or quarter finals!!!

 

I do not think we will see an other surprise... but you never know!!!

 

Can you imagine Spain to be out??? No..... ;) Except if Switzerland wins and Spain not... or if the Swiss win with more goals than the spainish! ;)

Then... I will continue in the cointest too! :D

WOW!!! Germany!!! England was not so "fresh" in their game and...

 

Of course there is a small issue with the first goal of Germany.... according to some reporters there is a possibility that the german player is offside...

 

And of course the goal that didn't count for England! Amazing that none of the referees or linesmen etc saw that the ball pass the line... a lot!!!

 

Anyway.... Players in England are playing lots of games in their country and in europe so not we say that they were tired! Maybe they will have to think a little about it, now!!! Players are humans!!

 

the famous English players were not in a good day! all were trying to find Rooney but he is not shape after his injury! ...and... if you are trying to find only 1 player... you are predictable and... finally you lose!

 

Germany played better and... they played excelllent without the ball on their feet! That is modern football! To take the right possision in the field and then when you get the ball from your co player things will be easier!

They were faster than English too!

 

So...

So.... the octapus was right again!!!! In case you do not know, there is an octapus in an aquarium that actually predicts who will win! Till now the octapus is right!!!

 

How this can be done? They put 2 boxes with food in its cage! each one has a flag of the team! the octapus chooses the box and... we have a winner!!! YES!!! it choosed Germany for this game!!! Strange!!!

 

Can I have an octapus like that too? :laughing:

Ok...... Today's referee's are a joke right????

 

I am watching now the game between argentina and Mexico!!!

 

Huge mistake in the Argentina's first goal!!! IT is not a legal one!!!

 

The player made a foul to the goalkeeper and later the scorer is offside!!! :laughing:

 

Argentina just scored the second goal.... well Mexico after the first illegal goal... doesn't have the same strength, but the players have nerves! Until they calm Argentinian scored again!

 

What can I say.... Argentina is a great team! They do not need that help!!! Mexico is a very good team but not as Argentina... BUT if the referee is 50- 50 things can be different!!! Even smaller teams have rights!!!

 

On the other hand... and without saying something bad for Germany (they were much much better than England, and deserve to win!!!), if none of the referees saw the goal of England... Would they see a foul or an offside? :laughing:

Argentina and Germany clearly had the better teams today. Their next match should be a good one!

 

however, FIFA really needs another official to use television instant replay and modern technology to assist the field officials in making the correct calls. there is just too much at stake in these world cup games to allow only one person or even two people, that are away from the play, to get it wrong. its rather sad that in this modern world, FIFA still refuses to improve the game and insists on using primitive, out-dated methods. i hope the clear mistakes called in todays games will make FIFA wake up and accept the changes that need to be made. :laughing:
