xdzgor Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Anyone else unable to upload images? I keep getting an "internal server error" when I try to upload an image when registering a find.
+Bear and Ragged Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Can happen at the weekend, too many logging finds/planning tomorrows caching!
+KiwiGary Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Can happen at the weekend, too many logging finds/planning tomorrows caching! Yes can upload pics to logs, but not on TB pages been happening for the last 12 hours. See ya...Gary
+wanzong Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 I haven't been able to upload an image to a TB log since the new servers were installed yesterday.
+Prime Suspect Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 (edited) In noted in the Announcement section, they're switching image servers this weekend. Edited April 25, 2010 by Prime Suspect
xdzgor Posted April 25, 2010 Author Posted April 25, 2010 In noted in the Announcement section, they're switching image servers this weekend. Yes, but it also says it was all working fine again.... so I wondered what the problem could be.
+WheelerBeez Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 I have the same problem. Can upload to a cache but not TB's.
+jonny-blue Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 I have the same problem. Can upload to a cache but not TB's. Yes, I have the same problem since yesterday ...
+jvSquared Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 I suppose I will add another "Me too" log. Was able to upload several pictures to cache logs, but not to TB dropped logs. Haven't tried other forms of TB logs.
+tony_c Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Same for me, I can upload images to cache logs, but get an error uploading any to a TB page. Something's broken...
StewyCache Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Yes I am having the same problem uploading pictures of travel bugs.
+MaxB on the River Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Another addition to the TB upload photo problem. Keep getting the 500 Internal Server error. Been the smae problem since yesterday.
sandos101 Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 I'm still trying to figure out HOW to upload images. I use the geocaching.com app on the iPhone. Does anyone know of a way to do it from there? I tried on the main page and on the individual cache. I also looked on the geochaching website so obviously I am missing something. Thanks!
OpinioNate Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Someone please post a link to a trackable/trackable log that is still showing this error on image upload so I can reproduce it. Thanks!
OpinioNate Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 It appears that the 500 error is a result of uploading a very large image. We're working on this now but you can resize the pic and try uploading again.
+WheelerBeez Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 It appears that the 500 error is a result of uploading a very large image. We're working on this now but you can resize the pic and try uploading again. I tried to upload a smaller pic but "The Image upload system is currently down for maintainence. Please try again later." The original photos were between 100 and 160k, I didnt think that was too big. Cheers
+wanzong Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 I was able to upload my image this afternoon. It was also very quick. Looks like it's working, at least for me...
+k7-wave Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I've been trying to upload pics to a CITO event since Saturday (65-120K each). Couldn't do it then, can't do it now. "500 Internal server error" every time.
+Gitchee-Gummee Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Worked just fine for us. Just uploaded two TB pics to their respective pages w/o problem, moments ago.
+k7-wave Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Vista Home Premium / IE8. It worked fine on Friday. Saturday-present: server error every time.
+jvSquared Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Vista running firefox, uploaded ~115k images to TB log from a week ago, didn't work Saturday, worked fine today (Same images, same log)
+k7-wave Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 The server is not recognizing certain older types of .jpg files. Like the kind my favorite editing software produces. Tried another more modern but seldom used editing software and those .jpg's load up fine.

If you don't mind, could you send one of these images to contact@geocaching.com c/o bootron, so we can use it to test our image service? bootron
