+The Lavender Hill Mob
I've come into the possesion of 60 35mm film containers! I need to get rid of them but don't want my area flooded with micro's! I have the following ideas but would welcome any other sensible suggestions: 1. I could hide a large cache filled with just a log book, pen and film containers and make it mandatory for anyone who finds the cache to take a container and place it within 8 weeks of finding the cache, if not the find will be unlogged. Problems with this. a. Someone could take all the containers in one hit! b. The admin of finding out if they have placed the micro would be high 2. I could post them out to the forum community, 5 at a time, on condition that the next time they see any charity box they make a donation. Problems with this a. Postage, packing and personal adresses b. I'd have to take the cachers word that they'll make the donation but I guess it's their conscience! 3. Sell them on ebay Problems with this a. It'll cost me more than I get (I'd have to break even....I don't want to lose money.....I'm not a charity, although my kids think I am ) Cheers TLHM Quote Link to comment
+John Stead
You could follow the example of a devious cacher in the North West who filled a bucket with small containers with the coordinates of the real cache in only a few of them - that is if you enjoy your name being mud. +Dorsetgal & GeoDog
How about printing a little log sheet, placing that and a cut down pencil inside a small zip loc baggie, and leaving them in caches you find as swag? This will ensure a wider geographical spread, not give the opportunity for anyone to grab the lot in one go and be a nice find for someone else. I was given a couple of ready made caches similar to this when in the States that someone leaves as a signature item but am still pondering on where to place 'em! Quote Link to comment
markandlynn
Stick a carrier bag in each one and place a CITO label on the outside and place them in caches. Quote Link to comment
Iwuzere
I went to my local Boots photo counter (when no-one else was around!) and asked nicely if I could recycle any from their bin (which was clean!).. got a bag full of them! The translucent oval ones from APS films are better sealed than 35mm ones - though a bit smaller to squeeze a log into. HTH Quote Link to comment
+dino-irl
Stick a carrier bag in each one and place a CITO label on the outside and place them in caches. Now I like that idea! I have a similar box of containers when I went to the local chemist to get 5! Might steal that idea guys Quote Link to comment
+jerryo
I wanted a few film canisters so I went to the inevitable Boots and said I was arranging a river race similar to this. I said we couldn’t afford plastic ducks and 35mm film pots would be ideal. I got 250! Quote Link to comment

Good idea, I have left 35mm containers as swag in a couple of my own caches but they never went! Apart from when they got muggled Quote Link to comment

What about setting up a cache with an ALR (additional logging requirement) of performing a CITO or attending a CITO or holding a CITO event within the next two months. Having seen some ALR caches thats an idea thats bound to get past a reviewer. Quote Link to comment

Yes see here or this bookmark list As for proof someone has cleaned up at another cache photographic evidence posted on the cache page would work but does exclude people with no digi camera. I did think of that but what's to stop someone going home, filling a bag full of rubbish and taking a photo........boy.............have you noticed that I have a terrible distrust of people ........even more so after getting mugged by two 12 year olds in Bucharest earlier this year! I did a pocket query of CITO events within 100km of me......none.......so perhaps we need one! Quote Link to comment

I'm leaning towards the idea of 'SCRAMBLED' perhaps with a CITO slant. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...cytmk&log=y Quote Link to comment
+Dark_Faerie
If you had 1000 you could try this... or here's a few ideas Hot water and Alkaseltzer sounds fun On a more boring and sensible note, I really like the mini first aid kit idea. Might go to Boots next time I'm shopping. Quote Link to comment
+purple_pineapple
Or keep them for now and take them along to the next event and hand them out for free! I'm going to be doing that with the screw top micros I now use, and have lots of! That way, they get distributed around the country (assuming its a nationally attended event...!)
